All this game will most likely do is save cutlers job because Trestman will show his complete ineptness regardless of who's under center.

This could backfire on Trestman and end up saving Emery's job instead of his own.
Think about it. Trestman benched Cutler as a final fuck you to Emery and last chance to save his job by showing Jay (and hence Emery for saddling him with Jay) was the problem all along. But if Clausen plays like shit and the team looks like the same without Jay, that could actually lead the powers at HH to conclude that Trestman was the problem. Thereby lessening any accountability to be held by Emery for signing Cutler to such a deal.
I still think all 3 need to go. But it would be a final irony if Trestman's temper tantrum on the way out ended up saving Emery and Cutler.
