Great game. Iowa had a good game plan packing in the zone, but Illinois played well. They just kept stealing their own momentum with mistakes like catching a ball with a foot out of bounds. Giorgi’s pass that got stolen and taken for an easy bucket was a momentum changer, too. We will see what happens when Iowa gets on Illinois home turf later this season. I predict paign.

BTW, when Trent drew that charge call against Garza that was just one indication of what Illinois should be doing next time against Iowa. Go right at Garza and get him in foul trouble.

Tough loss, I agree that Giorgi's turnover in the backcourt was the dagger.

Great game, and really a great year, by Feliz. He is a tone setter and gets some momentum changing baskets.

Garza did whatever he wanted, has such a well-rounded offensive game. And I think despite how great Kofi has been Garza also shows how far Kofi has to go to get to the next level. Gotta have a game outside the paint, be able to hit an 18 footer with consistency and or face someone up from 18 feet in iso in today's NBA game.

Tough loss. But still in good shape. Big Ten is wild.

Yep. When Trent passed the ball out to Kofi at the elbow, instead of driving and losing the ball, he should have taken the shot. It's not like he doesn't have good form, can't make FT or hasn't made a couple of shots from that location previously. I will say Garza gets away with bloody murder inside. He's going to have a tough time for a bit adapting to the NBA. Highly skilled player though.

If Kofi even thinks he's ready for the NBA, he should watch this game tape and reconsider. He probably needs at least 2 more years.

The draft is about potential, not readiness. I'm sure his "team" will make some calls to get a feel for where he would go. If it's 1st round (which I'm not seeing right now), he's gone.

Games like this dont even show potential 1st round status. He looked like Yinka Dare out there (well not that bad but you get it)

Kofi isn’t on any draft boards. He needs to at least add a midrange game. I wouldn’t gonso far to say he needs 3 years. Oturu needed work as a Freshman and turned himself into a 1st round pick as a Sophomore.

I've seen him in late 2nd round mocks

This team has zero killer ability. Some of that is due to their foul-prone ways and poor outside shooting but Underwood's use of timeouts is fucking pathetic. Dude needs to take a class on how & when to use timeouts.

Opposing team usually has an 8-0 run or 13-2 run (like in the Iowa game) and he doesn't call a timeout (he eventually did because of a 2 for 1 end of the half scenario)

The more I watch Kofi, the more I realize he has zero basketball intelligence. Probably gets it from his coach.

They are basically playing the pic & roll at the top of the key by doubling it. There are zero back cuts or ball movement to counter that defense and the offense keeps taking long 3's. Where the **** is the coaching????????????????

Roast away people but they should make a run to sign Bruce Pearl this year and get rid of Underwood.
