IIRC Underpants' teams at UI have all kind of gelled (and that doesn't necessarily mean they were good, just looked a lot better), starting around late January early February. Hopefully the second half last night is the beginning of that.

I just hate Underdicks offense when they don't pass and take 3's, most of the time.

Too often they stagnate with Dosunmu running Bill Self Kansas hand-offs across the top and trying to force feed the big guy.

They don't seem to open up and whip the ball around to 5 guys until they are in trouble against a good defense.

The talent is there, but they should have fired Undy this year and brought Pitino in to finish this. Serious.

Northwestern was 2-24 from the field in the second half. 8.33%

Kofi had 13 points and 9 rebounds in the 2nd half. NU as a team had 13 and 11.

I mentioned that they shot 8% for the second half, previously, but thinking about how bad 2-24 really is is hilarious. Let’s hope Illinois is figuring out how to bring pride and energy to the start of every game and not just the 2nd half.

Yup! Underwood appears to not be very good at keeping the team motivated.

Underwood got outcoached. Turgeon gameplanned for Ayo and his players executed the planned very well. Ayo is going to have to learn how to go to his left. They switched up how they were defending Kofi in the second half. No answers. Offensively, Illinois could not match Maryland’s length, yet Grandison and Coleman-Hawkins, who is very skilled for a 6’10” Freshman, got minimal playing time.

Ayo and Curbelo were totally gassed at the end because no Frazier and both made a number of dumb plays. Got very little from Damonte and Gio, definitely agree that Grandison should have played more in the second half. With Maryland's length but relative lack of quickness he could have played the 3 to spell the guards a little more.

Also have to learn to play with less pace when you're short handed.
