Can Illinois get a little respect sometime, please?

They’re still only ranked number 22 but at the moment they are on the road at number nine and winning by 27.

Imagine being an Oregon fan and thinking to yourself after that football game “well that was a shitty way to end the season but at least we have a top 10 basketball team.“ That was not the game you needed one day later.

Largest margin of victory on the road vs Top 10 team ever!

And the second highest point total scored.

Nice.

I forgot there was even a game until I noticed they were up by 30 lol. I wonder if Beamer is still pissed about getting spanked and if he was rooting for Oregon in this game out of spite lol. They also dominated with their best player having a bad game too.

Back to the Oregon game...

Supreme Cook is an awesome name!
At least he has something to fall back on if hoopball doesn't work out.

They have the potential to be really, really good, although they need to be more consistent shooting the 3. I am extremely impressed with how well the D has gelled, with so few experienced players. And the offense changes every year to suit the talent. Great job by Underwood. I didn't think this team would be nearly this good, especially so quickly. Jakuonis is the best freshman UI has ever had.

They could potentially only lose him and Humrichous next year too (among the rotation guys). Think Riley and Ivisic need another year. Although probably others will transfer.

UW still has that issue on closing out games. Washington was another game the opponent surged back at the end of the game. It’s frustrating and I don’t get it; years past it was always the free throw shooting. But this team is hitting free throws late now.

He struggles with inbounds plays. Very strange.

I think a bit of it this year is that they are so young and new to one another. Their guards are learning everyone's game, and to lead. I think they could be really good by March - one of the best backcourts in CBB and several other guys who can shoot and get their own points. Plus they are a dominant rebounding team.

He is day to day. They thought he could play yesterday. Maybe Tuesday but they think he has so much promise they don't want to push him. Sounds like smart coaching.

Illini done up and whooped Indiana.
Rawr!
2nd worse Indiana loss ever at Assembly Hall. 2nd loss by 20+ in a row. Hoosier Nation is pissed but Woodson’s buddy Quinn Buckner won’t put the program out of its misery. Illinois has a good program going. Indiana not so much. Good luck Illini.
