Inventing a new Defensive Scheme

We hear about the 3-4 and 4-3 with different backfields.

Is a 2-5 scheme possible?

If you can get 5 athletic linebackers that can blitz and dropback. Would you see this as an option for this bears team?

Some of you will probably immediately dismiss this. And say this is dumb. Well if you think that tell me why. Because I think it could be a breakthrough for the NFL

I think it really depends what QB and OL you are facing, but it definitely would be fun to watch, or horrific, depending on the matchups.

I'm pretty sure this is like some current prevent defense's, but I would think if you played the LB's of the LOS like that, teams would just pound the rock for 3-5 yards at a time.

Their psycho package was this formation but it wasn't an all of the time thing. But yes this was a part of their defense.

I thought the Eagles did this in a failed attempt to stop the Rams. Seems it would have trouble with the run as well.

Maybe I should google "Eagle defense". Can't remember if it was 1 lineman or 2, but they definitely had 5 lb. Maybe 1 lineman is like the "psycho" package.

Pretty sure the Steelers, jets and 49ers have run a 2-5-4.... Put your two big 3-4 DEs as tackles and your two passrush OLB stand up DEs... Or do zone blitzes... Pretty sure the Steelers have ran a 1-6-4 before lol

I also don't think your numbers add up. I mean I know 3 + 4 = 7. I also know 4 + 3 = 7, but how the hell is 2 + 5 gunna equal 7????
