I honestly don't know much about Ripple, but everyone keeps talking about it. My dad(economist) invested in it and plenty of colleagues have done the same. I was planning on reading about it this weekend.

If the market crashes, I will be inclined to buy more honestly. The market will just go back up. I saw a 25% return last year across the board. I expect the bullish market to continue through 2018. Fingers crossed!

Agree. My people are saying there is nothing (short of war) that will derail this market in 2018. However, they do expect gains in 18 to be less than 17.
I was watching a show and they were discussing the "Bears and Bulls". Panelist interjects: "what Bears, they are all dead now". I laughed and laughed, then I rested then laughed some more.

What Vanguard Index funds are you in? I was just re-reading the thread. I have a nice mix of Total US Market (VTI), Developed markets (VEA), and Emerging (VWO). It's working out nicely.

None. I love Vanguard Funds and their returns, but my money is Managed by Northern Trust Managed Services Group and they make all the decisions for me. I have a portfolio with Domestic and international stocks, bonds and real estate funds.
For others interested there are tons of articles online that will teach you how to use Vanguard funds to build portfolios with varying levels of risk dependent upon your age, circumstances etc.
I have been tempted to do Vanguard on my own but I only pay 55 basis points at Northern Trust vs 33 basis that Vanguard charges. For me it's worth 20 basis points to have big brains plotting my investment strategy
