Went to Bestbuy today, was told Sprint did away with their 1 year upgrade. I now have to wait till July of 2013 for a new phone. I'm quite pissed off as this is the 2nd time I've had issues with the USB port (I'm not the only one, a simple google search yielded pages of forum topics about this issue on this specific model) and I really do not feel I need to send this phone in and get a loaner phone while I wait. I emailed GeekSquad with my frustrations (I typically never complain directly to the company) and hopefully they come up with a better solution than "We can send it out and you will get another 'Grade A Refurbished Phone' that will work perfectly".

I would say **** it. Pay the early termination fee and go somewhere else. Only sign a year contract too. It may make the phone more expensive up front, but if after a year you have issues with the service or the phone, you can easily jump ship.

Maybe it's just because you are a loser?

I for one just got my Samsung Galaxy S3 the other day fresh off the presses and luuuuuurves it! So pretty. I almost, almost decided to go with the HTC One X even after AT&T finally started taking pre-orders for the S3 but in the end the HTC One X had qualities I abhor that I knew I wouldn't be able to "get over". Namely lack of memory card slot and the inability to change the battery one's self because of the one-piece composite case design. These are the types of user unfriendly specs that drive me insane in an Apple product LOATHING way. These are basic, minimum options/specs IMO. It takes a lot of fucking hubris with the countless models available these days and every year's new debuts to not offer memory upgrading and user battery replacement. Additionally, I am suspect about the HTC "Touch" UI that they install on all their phones. The One X is so fucking gorgeous and sweet though that I had genuine emotional lapses of clarity and moments where I thought I could get past these things and almost just ordered it but as I love my Galaxy S3 I am ecstatic that my cooler head always prevailed and I didn't.

Yeah I was actually thinking about jumping to AT&T after I saw the One X but when I saw that you couldn't upgrade the memory that was kind of a killer. The battery is not that big a deal to me, as long as it can last the day I'm fine. The EVO (which is basically the One X for Sprint with a different design) does allow you to use a memory card though so I stayed with Sprint. As far as the HTC UI it's hit or miss with a lot of people, as is all UIs more or less, and usually depends on personal preference but seeing as with any Android phone you can easily download and replace the UI and use any launcher you want and completely customize it down to the appearance of widgets and lock screens and font, it's not really a factor at all.

Unfortunately, the early termination fee is $268. I overheard the Best Buy mobile manager say something along the lines of "till October" on the phone. I think my price may drop after October, I'm going to wait it out and if it does I'm bolting for another service. If the termination fee was only $100 I would do it in a heart beat. I think maybe in October it may split to half but I'll wait and find out. Not much I can really do.

Might want to do a little digging. If I am not mistaken, and I may be, but the fee may be pro-rated for each month you are a customer.

I've had my HTC Evo 35 for just over a year now and have never had any problems with it. Everything is still pretty much as it was when I bought it. Battery still goes a full day. People who download a lot of the freeware stuff (and paid aps really) is what kills battery. I know the android system is supposed to leave things in memory for faster load times and less battery usage of having to start the program fresh every time, but having a shit ton of programs installed means that you have a shit ton of programs who like to do dumb things like constantly check for updates, or use widgets for active things. You can monitor all these things with a simple program and unmark them all from starting and close them all if they do, but the best thing to do is to constantly go through your programs and delete ones you haven't used in a while. Especially if they are free because you can always just redownload them. The only thing with that sucks about the EVO 3d 4g is Sprints coverage sucks in my apartment. It must be the thick heavy walls and the height of my place with the angle of the building but my coverage sucks, and the 4g is not strong enough anywhere to make it in buildings. I'm hoping their upgrades help, as well as the new network when I change. The 3d was a complete gimmick and I didn't get the phone for that I got it because at the time it was the best processor out there and I"ve been completely happy.

Well screw you too. Here are 2 things my unreal GalaxyS did today while it was sitting on the table...no lies...

1) It changed the wallpaper all by itself..just chose a random pic in my files and decided to use it as the wallpaper

2) Sent a text by itself of jibberish
