Is Mariani the slowest KR/PR man in the NFL?

Watching 3-5 games every week this year and I have yet to see anyone as slow as him. Remember that play on the PR where he got the edge (was a holding penalty anyway) and he couldn't get around a linebacker? Would have been a touchdown with Hester. He couldn't even break free from a linebacker.

Not many kick returners are Devin Hester. I think you need to lower your expectations.

I am not expecting him to be Devin Hester. But when a returner gets the edge due to poor coverage, he should be able to outrun a linebacker. That should have been a 15-20 yard gain.

I remember one return yesterday that was just awful. I thought he had gotten around the edge then BANG BOOM POW.

The punt return before halftime really bothered me. He should've dived for it and saved the Bears 10 yards for chance to make FG. He needs to be cut.

The problem is, he is our #3 receiver right now...UGH

He's a solid punt returner, you guys need to get over the idea he's somehow bad. Noones hester.

And, to be quite honest, you wanna go threw another cycle like last year? Where's Chris Williams btw

He definitely looks like he slows down a lot to brace for a hit every single time

The Bears should draft Tyler Lockett in the 2015 draft.

Your post triggered an alert on my cell phone.

My advise right now is to let all punts just drop to do ground and whatever happens happens. On kickoffs he should never take it out of the end zone. I believe that there is a better chance than not of a penalty on the runback anyway. Our returns have downside risk with little/no upside potential.

I think Mariani is pretty good. He may not be fast but he is very quick. The problem as I see it is the point of attack blocking being bad. He makes quick cuts which is why I wish they played him a bit on offense.

The Eagles had a white receiver a few years ago, Kevin Curtis, who could flat out fly.
