Put Royal in to return. I know he is a starter, but he is the best returner on the by a wide margin.

What is wrong with Mariani. Averaging 26 yards on kick-off returns and over 12 yards on punt returns are about the top 3rd of returners in the league. I think we were spoiled by the greatness of Hester.

Those stats are for this year and do not represent illegal block in the back or holding penalties. What you are talking about really is the stupid NFL trying pretty much to eliminate kick-off returns in moving the ball upfield and increasing the number of block in the back and other penalties.

Mariani is fine. Unlike the clowns from early last year, he knows what he is doing. He is just a nonfactor in general. We were absolutely spoiled by Hester, he made a kick must see TV. He had at least a year of production left when Uncle Phil ran him out of town.

As many have stated, he averages 26 yards per return and that's not inflated because of an outlier, his long is only 31. But he's also top 10 in the league in return yards. #9 with 192 yards. Don't care if he's slow. He's doing fine.
