Is Mariani the slowest KR/PR man in the NFL?

Oh please. Makes good decisions and doesn't fumble. There are maybe 2 or 3 game breaking returners in the league, they are rare.

I think Mariani is pretty good. He may not be fast but he is very quick. The problem as I see it is the point of attack blocking being bad. He makes quick cuts which is why I wish they played him a bit on offense.

I actually agree. No dancing just locates a lane and goes. Much better than the revolving door from last year as someone else mentioned.

The guy does more downing in the end zone then he does running out of it! Makes me wonder if the blame is him or the overall lack of blocking from our ST unit.

Either way, our ST is nothing special when it comes to returns. Not even average in my opinion.

Beasley on the Cowboys might be slower; he's white too.

He is pretty slow, but he's also averaging more yards per return than Weems...

It's average. Marc's a good returner, do you guys watch other games besides just the Bears? He's a good KR/PR compared to many others.

And unmm when they moved the kickoff up 10 yards , teams aren't taking ball out of end Zone often. I'm sure fox n st coordinator tell him to Just down it.

He's a solid punt returner, you guys need to get over the idea he's somehow bad. Noones hester.

And, to be quite honest, you wanna go threw another cycle like last year? Where's Chris Williams btw

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
The guy was a Pro Bowl player. Kick-off returns are pretty much nonexistent in the NFL right now anyway. He is not the problem in special teams. Look at the blocking at the point of attack.

He's very safe. Not going to make a big play happen either way, but also not going to make a mistake.

I realize I just jinxed him.

That is not very exciting or productive. For as much bitching as people did on this board, Hester didn't lose many fumbles and he won this team a lot of field position. Football outsiders has the Bears at 31 for ST this year through three weeks. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/teamst

Could we entice Don Beebe to come out of retirement?
