The CCS Chicago Blackhawks forum: We hate defensively sound centers, and centers who aren't defensively sound. We hate tough guys, and guys who aren't tough. We want everyone fired. Prospects suck. Anyone who isn't a perennial all-star sucks.

Most importantly, everyone on the Hawks except Toews and Hossa, sucks.

I think that's just Capt. Serious :tiptoe:

I seldom want a team to trade a player just because.

Bolland doesn't fall into that. If he (as a piece) can land the Blackhawks a 2C or top 4 defenseman, by all means I would hope Bowman would consider it.

It dist rubs me that people are saying the Blackhawks can't get better if they trade Bolland.

The only player on the Blackhawks who I would say it holds true for is Jonathan Toews.

Nobody is saying that. The issue is: Because of Bolland's cap hit and the fact that he's a checking center, it's highly unlikely that you going to get anything more valuable than him in return.

However, with the way these playoffs are going, teams might be looking to move to more defense-first philosophies (barf), which could drive his value up. Hell, the Sabres got Hodgson in exchange for Zack Kassian. Anything's possible.

The only big free agent is Suter. Trading away a center, where there are already depth issues, in order to enter a bidding war for Suter is the best way to guarantee yourself a trip to Cap Hell and guarantee that the Hawks will never ever fill the hole at 2c.

I don't dislike Jokinen... although I wouldn't call him "big" at $3 Mil per year (likely to be driven up since he's really the only top-6 C available) and 33 years of age.

Has he been playing on Iginla's line though? I ask because Morrison put up pretty good numbers on Iginla's line, leading me to believe he was a good option. He clearly wasn't.
