Is this the most (interesting) Bear season in your time as a fan?

I think people are confusing "best" season or "excellent" season with "interesting".

What makes this an interesting season is that we have a QB that has show flashes of greatness. And this is the season where we should see more regular flashes. And if we do we have the talent around him to improve this years ceiling almost exponentially. On the flipside if he doesn't progress, we are in a solid position to get another stud QB in next years draft and let Poles do his thing.

I am hoping that Fields greatness comes out because it means we can use the stock of picks in the coming drafts on a QB's last year of his rookie deal before he gets extended. It also means we likely nailed the QB, coaching staff and GM positions for the first time in Bears history.

What makes this the most interesting season is the amount of unknowns, combined with off the charts hope in a potential franchise QB.

Okay who?

It's not against any of the decent players Jenkins Sanborn Kmet just the reality that there's one borderline great player/superstar player on the team. So please tell me the 15 players you're so excited for.
Can someone not be excited about a player who's not already a superstar?

Like it or not, Fields has superstar potential. If he turns out to be the first superstar QB that Chicago has ever had in pretty much all of our lifetimes then that's a massive deal.

Beyond that (and the aforementioned Moore), i'm looking forward to:
  1. Seeing how Mooney rebounds from last year as a former 1,000 yard receiver in a shitty offense.
  2. Seeing how Claypool looks with a full year in the offense and training camp.
  3. Tyler Scott looks as a speedster.
  4. Velus Jones looks as a gadget guy and punt returner.
  5. Khalil Herbert looks at the lead back (at the moment)
  6. D'Onta Foreman looks in this offense possibly getting big carries if he can beat out Herbert for a larger share of the carries.
  7. Roshon Johnson looks as a 3rd/passing down back and if he can maybe realize some of the ridiculous hype around him.
  8. Darnell Wright and if he can come in and dominate from the jump at RT.
  9. Braxton Jones and if he can take the next step into being a good and maybe even great LT.
  10. Jenkins and if he can stay healthy and solidify himself as a top notch guard.
  11. How Whitehair looks at center.
  12. Gervon Dexter in the middle there and how he looks getting off the ball and disrupting the middle of the field with his elite athleticism.
  13. Zach Pickens and if he can be an effective interior rusher early on.
  14. Trevis Gipson and how he might look with more help around him.
  15. How Domnique Robinson looks in year 2.
  16. How Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards look together in Eberflus' defense.
  17. How Jaylon Johnson will look in a contract year.
  18. How Kyler Gordon looks in year 2 locked into the nickel position.
  19. How Tyreke Stevenson does as a rookie, and can he have a Jaylon Johnson type rookie year.
  20. Brisker's next steps possibly into stardom at safety.
  21. Eddie Jackson looks coming off injury in year 2 of this defense alongside Brisker. I think he can be better than he was last year.

I was so excited I got up and left in the middle of a digital photography class in college, lol.

The Khalil Mack trade was almost just as exciting, though, followed by the Brandon Marshall trade.

We would have to define what the word excited means to each of us. Fields & DJ, I'm super star excited about. Then I could make a list of more then 15 things I look forward to watching closely.

Definitely in the last 10 years or so! Not that I’m expecting a Super Bowl or anything but the anticipation of finding out if Fields and Poles are the right guys and without too many injuries- the trajectory should be revealed one way or the other!

I hope it solidifies that after next off-season we are in annual superbowl contending seasons!

Let’s go Bears!!!

DJ Moore is obviously a very good player. The Bears don't have a lot of other good players on the team. There are players that I like.

But past players that I was excited to watch every year?

Urlacher Briggs Hester.

I don't know who I have a high level of hope for to be excited for because there are so many unknowns.

I could not agree more with the unknown part. Never have I seen a season with this much change and new pieces. Gonna be interesting. Might be good. Might be real good. Might crash and burn too.

It is the unknowns that make it interesting, well coupled with the potential.

Pace has peeked my interest. He appears to have a plan on rebuilding our Bears. Instead of giving away first round picks, he's actually acquired extra. I've liked his draft picks so far. F/A has been a bit iffy, but he hasn't gone hog wild like certain previous GM's.

I am also optimistic about the future. It seems they have a well reasoned plan and are executing it. They have draft capital, cash and youth. I am not as optimistic as I was in the early 80s but that is likely due to so many disappointing seasons since.

Possible franchise QB.
largest 1 year turnover of talent.
New young players and vets to watch everywhere.
Early draft pick to root for from trade.
Good year to keep up with college potential coming out. (I don't)

I gotta say this year is in my top 3. Been watching from 82 till now. How about you?

The new era is due to Rodgers leaving GB. It's like a new chapter in Bears history and one can see why non sugarcoat fans are ready to move on. . .

Rodgers era finished it with a 8 game winning streak vs chicago, all decided by a touchdown or moar. Packers also have dominated the Bears by winning the last 13 of 14 games.

Bears literally start off 0-2 hole in the division every season, lol. During Rodgers tenure the Packers are 26-5. Without Rodgers stat padding on the Bears he'd be a question mark hall of famer. With the Bears getting stat padded on during his career, he is a hall of fame lock.

The new era will only come with Da Bears having a franchise QB. AR was great sure but we sucked more then he was great. With even a average offense we would have beat him most games.

(It seems they have a well reasoned plan and are executing it.) I see it too. PS. We can even replace QBs in this rebuild without selling out the future. (If needed). We are in a great position and I can't even remember the last time we were.

Pace? I know what you meant and you are right. But it is his draft pick that has us the most excited ironically.

Probably crash and burn this season because they're so many new players. It's a lot to expect every rookie to play at a high level.

It's just the reality of the rebuild.

If they all start to play well in year and three then they'll be in a good place. They say 30 games is the threshold to know if you have a great player.
