Holy crap. Just saw the Prince Fielder home run and I think I might have spotted just as many Tigers fans as White Sox fans in the crowd, although that was obviously from the Tigers' feed so they might have just focused on the few token fans.

Ive been on Ventura for a few weeks now about some really, lame rookie managing mistakes....but I wont lay this one at his feet. Well, not completely anyway. First, why is Septimo even in a major league uniform? He usually doesnt throw strikes and when he does he gets blasted....can't blame Ventura there though as you can't keep using the same guys over n over. If you're in a major league bullpen, you need to pull your weight. But I do have to question why with the tying run at the plate in the 9th....a weak stick like Hudson is left out there. He did the same thing Sunday with the game on the line letting Olmedo make himself look foolish in the clutch. He had guys with home run power sitting on the bench tonight.....Flowers, Danks....hell, I'd have rather even had Beckham in there. If the Sox come up short by a game or two, Ventura will only have himself to blame for his lack of playing these games like they are playoff games.

This series is an experienced manager beating up on a rookie manager.

Im sick of the "matchups" from the past....orlando hudson should not have had an at bat in the 9th.

This team is barely hanging on with the injuries. I still have no idea how they are where they are being destroyed by injuries all year long. we really really need Dunns presence in the lineup.

Well.... we really need to win tonight, if not we can look at the glass half full and say hey we're playing the Twins again! We've played Detroit and Minnesota back to back twice this year. The first time we got swept by the Tigers and then proceeded to sweep the Twins, then we got swept by the Tigers again, but took 2 of 3 from the Twins. Not that we'll be safe but there is still optimism to be had even if we lose tonight. (Which we won't )

The Tigers have been terrible against Minnesota and KC this year. Regardless how this series ends tonight, the Tigers have 12 games left against those two and winning half of those games isn't a gimme. I still like the Sox to win the division. The only way the Tigers can win it is to have the bottom of the order do anything these next three weeks. The starting pitching has been very good. Coming into the series they had 13 of 15 quality starts and were 8-7. In a four game stretch from Friday to Monday they scored a total of 6 runs. That's not going to win you a division in September.

I'm actually looking forward to playing the Angels and the Rays. We seem to play better baseball when it's against teams outside of our division.

edit: And teams that aren't the Orioles.

I just don't understand why Donnie Veal wasn't brought in to face Fielder instead of fucking Septimo when he hit that homer. I. JUST. DON'T. GET. IT.

you and I are very negative when it comes to our teams :)

we have too many injuries, too many rookie arms and we are just lost against the tigers. its a combo of robin making bad moves vs the tigers and injuries.

both teams are so flawed.

Yes, they are. I'd be more confident if they didn't finish with Minnesota and KC, especially on the road.

Rainout. Better hope for some separation before the makeup game.

Sure that'd help, but circumstances for Monday very different than if they had played tonight.

For about a second it looked like the tribe was gonna make a run at the tigers in today's game, instead they took a page out of the Sox "leaving runners in scoring position" book

The races in the AL East and AL Central are about all that is interesting in baseball at this point. Seems like each is going down to the wire which might be the biggest suprise in baseball.
