But in all seriousness: When Zo gets back Heyward in CF and Zo in RF. It's starting to look that way and I see them going with the experience right now. Almora should get CF vs RHSP.

So, I'm not sure how much credit we should give Chili but I was looking at late night stats as I'm prone to do and it occurs to me just how significant the cubs K rate issues have disappeared save for Happ and Schwarber to a lessor extent. Here's what i'm talking about

2018 numbers / 2017
Bryant - 13.5 % / 19.2 %
Baez - 22.0 % / 28.3 %
Zobrist - 10.2 % / 14.3 %
Almora - 15.6 % / 16.4 %
Russell - 15.0 % / 23.6 %
Contreras - 20.6 % / 22.9 %
Schwarber - 31.5 % / 30.9 %
Happ - 47.2 % / 31.2 %
Caratini - 23.3 % / 19.7 %
La Stella - 18.2 % / 11.9 %
Heyward - 12.1 % / 13.9 %
Rizzo - 18.9 % / 13.0 %

Also as a reference point on the year the MLB average for non pitchers is 22.4 %. The only players the cubs have over that at the moment are Happ, Caratini and Schwarber and Caratini is likely just lack of playing time. Last year that same mark was 21.2% and the list was Baez, Russell, Contreras, Schwarber, and Happ all over.

I think Schwarber and Rizzo will improve...

If Baez can keep himself under 25%, ill be happy with that..
He seems to be more focused early on..
Maybe it the little gain of maturity he gotten with a baby on way and marriage...

With so much less swing & miss in the lineup, the Cubs' early offensive inconsistency and RISP problems should be alleviated as the sample size gets larger.

Despite the fact that there has been a school of thought over the last several years that strikeouts don't matter they do, just not the extent that they used to. When you have 3-4 hitters all above say 25% you're going to be very inconsistent and offense is inconsistent by its very nature. I Javy finishes off at say 22%-23% and Schwarber can get to 25% nobody is going to complain about either of those guys anymore.
