Yes, but no one really cares about days 2 and 3... and 3 for sure.

There are people who do.... Michael Sam was the story of Day 3 last year.

But yeah, I seriously hope for Friday-Sunday to make things a tad better for me personally.... I don't want to miss Game 1 because I'm living it up with a bunch of Bear fans at the Park Grill.... lol

The only part of the draft I'm watching will be up to pick No. 7 on Thursday night. After that? I'll find out the rest via Twitter or some other news source.

I believe most of the speculation from the Hawks beat writers was a Friday night start Game 1. Again, just their speculation, nothing concrete yet.

Oh there are way too many people that will watch every damn second of the NFL Draft and I have no idea why. After Round 1 I hardly even care to watch when the Bears are on the clock.

Oh I'm sure certain people know already. They just have to be tight-lipped about it per NHL rules.

All series games of the prior round have to end first before the schedule is released.

For that to happen, it will be determined on what Detroit does. Detroit is 3-2 in their series presently, which ends either tonight or Wednesday. The other series between the Caps and Isles doesn't matter due to their Game 7 being tonight.

Chances are, the schedule will be released tonight.

Yeah, as Dmelt and you say, there are people that watch it religiously, but they are the minority, most just focus on their team, and in the first round when it's the guys whose names they recognize. Other than that the second and third rounds are only for people to watch when nothing else is on.

As for Michael Sam last year, you know as well as I what that was about, and there is no story like that this year outside of the first round.

True... and I'm one of the religiously devout.

There are a lot of WRs in this years draft, so that is something to follow up on.

Thanks. It's mostly Mods though, and they don't like some of my antics that I used to get into in the Bears Forum before I did a complete 360. Those days are behind me and I look forward to learning more about this sport.

My apologies for going off on that, Stu, but still, its a rather important conflict that could come up.... All possibilities have to be considered.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Taking the high road and assuming this is serious:
Home Ice doesn't really mean a lot IMHO. If the hawks come out playing TO WIN and not just playing NOT TO LOSE, the series is theirs, no matter what rink they are playing on. Besides, how different is the ice in MN than in Chicago? I know it's colder there but both rinks are indoors right? Does teh Wild's rink have a basketball court under it?
Home ice does matter. Visitors have to submit their lineup before the home squad, and the home team gets the last change. Those can matter especially with 2 evenly matched teams. In our case, If we know Minny is icing guys who will make Rosie and Timmo look like py...well...like bigger pylons then they are, If we're the home team we can go for a quicker 5-6 combo (if Q would do that). Further, on a stoppage of play if Minnesota ices a specific line, Q can line-match to provide an advantage--either potentially pinning the puck in our attacking end or forcing a quick change.

Home ice shouldn't be the end-all-beat-all, but in an even match any advantage is good.

That sounds like a logistcal nightmare. how will they have time to melt the ice for basketball? Or do they just take it out in big chunks?
As was aforementioned, the BBall floor is put on top of the ice.

Hopefully Crawford can recover from his Jekyll/Hyde complex and has a clear mind in this series. Otherwise, it will be ugly like the last series was.

I'm less worried about Crawford/Darling than I am for the Team D being a complete clusterfuck like it was in games 1, 2, 5, & 6. On a team as good as the 'hawks it should not take a change in netminder for the Team D to pull their head out of their ass and start playing like a cohesive unit--especically with the guys we have on our team.

.

Thanks, i didn't know home ice meant there were technical advantages in how gameplans are set up. That's crazy! I though it was just the kind of ice they used and crowd noise and shit. Now that I think about it, that sounds kind of stupid. I know people talk about Soldier field vs. other stadiums and i guess that was my perspective. Thanks for the heads up!

Hawks in 6

Hawks finally have to play a real team. Hawks are the more talented team however Minnesota will certainly use the fact that we have ended their season the last 2 years as motivation. The Hawks in all likelihood will win this series if they score first and win at home. You do not want to get spend alot of time trailing this team. This may be the toughest team to come back against. The Wild are not going to blow 3-0, 2-0, or 3-1 leads like Nashville did. That was the main reason St Louis lost to Minnesota.

Per Lazerus on Twitter, here are the lines:

Saad-Toews-Hossa
Bickell-Richards-Kane
Sharp-Vermette-Teravainen
Desjardins-Kruger-Shaw

LOVE these lines.

Having someone in Teuvo who can get the puck to a gifted shooter like Sharp could really get that third line going.

Bickell on the second line should help create some space for Richards and Kane to work, too.

Holy ****. Is this.....is this real life?
