Saw on espn's bottom line that the change of pace rules have cut 8 minutes off games. I find it comical that MLB is celebrating this.

Its a step. The games seem faster. When you come out of commercial, the first pitch is being thrown which is nice. They have 2 minutes and 25 second between innings. Also, you have to think about that Yankees and Red Sox game that was a fucking marathon

Well full disclosure I never really felt games were too long anyways. I always felt like it was similar to people complaining over getting more time on a movie. If you're at the game you've paid probably $50-100 depending on seats so why not get more value out of your money? I suppose you could argue waiting isn't "value" but it all just strikes me as casual fans who live in an impatient world. Part of the enjoyment of baseball for me is just being at the game and the atmosphere.

Your reading comprehension is really awful. The Cubs played like shit. Got lucky. Luck doesnt last. You are upset I said they need to tighten up if they want to be a good ball club. I am sorry I think they can play better. I am sorry that they have big expectations and these things have to be cleaned up to win. Im sorry you have no clue how to be rational about your favorite team. Its really not my problem.

Oh I see, teams can't be clutch, but they can be lucky. No one said the Cubs played great, your making stuff up again. I said good teams win even when thet ARE NOT playing well. Talk about comprehension???

Face it, the Cubs played NOT their best, yet Foler's clutch HR in the 9th pulled out a win. Instead of appreciating that, you want to criticize them. That doesn't surprise me coming from you.

Weren't you one of the people telling everyone the Cubs had a ton of inexperienced players, and meatball Cubs fans should have patience?
Now that's just plain funny!!! Just wait until the Cubs get all their weapons and start hitting even better....... :sweep:

I dont mind it, but I always loved baseball. Baseball is trying to grow and in today's world. Its hard to keep peoples attention for 3 to 4 hours everyday. They are doing this to try to capture the kids and the casual fans back. I dont blame them. They arent messing with the integrity of the game. Some of the shit needed to go. Some pitchers would take forever and batters.

I suppose. I just don't really think length of the game is the problem. I think the production quality is what needs improvement. I have seen something they are developing think it was called stat cast(i can't never remember it's name) but it was sorta like the sports science stuff espn does in real time or close to it. I hope we get that soon because batters and pitchers can do all their histrionics just show stuff like that in the mean while. I feel like the NFL does good with this because they have replays between plays. Obviously, MLB has less action as you're not getting hits every "play." But, I feel like they can do a better job talking about how pitchers are attacking a better and stuff like that. As much as I hate ESPN's 3 man sunday night baseball I do sorta like the bits Schilling adds in. I think he could be better about it than he is but I think he's on the right track.

Right back at ya big boy

Well, I made a post about good teams find a way to win even when they DON'T play well, and your mature response was to insult my comprehension, and precede to tell me the Cubs played like shit and were lucky.

Then you preceded to tell me how awesome you are cuz you want the Cubs to play better, suggested that I didn't know how to root for my team, and then called me a 3 year old. Go figure. It seems like you're the immature one here to me. :yep:

:enough:

Do I tell people I am going to "wreck" them? Your immaturity is you cant not have a rationale discussion about any of your favorite teams. You're to emotional. Yes, the Cubs got extremely lucky yesterday. 90% of the time they will lose that game. They sure as **** wont beat out the Cardinals, Pirates, or Reds if they continue that path. I know, I know. Its hard for you to grasp the logic behind my statement. So, I would move on because you sound stupid.

That must have just happened. I just checked it 15 minutes ago. lol. I got the Cubs at -1 1/2. They better bring the sticks. Also, St. Louis down by 1. We could take the lead in the division with a win. Key to tonight. Keep Billy Hamilton off the base paths.

B-Ham is my dude -- talked to him a lot when he played for the Bats in Louisville. Great guy, very humble. And holy piss, watching him go from first to third on a single is borderline ridiculous.

But personal interest aside, keep him off the paths. He's been more selective so far this season in terms of pitch recognition for his jumps and it's shown -- 7 steals, 0 caught stealing.

WTF are you talking about? I've never said I'd "wreck" anyone. Are you making shit up again? :dunno: I can certainly have a mature convo about my team. The problem is.... you can't. Who's the one calling me stupid, a 3 year old, insulting my comprehension, and generally throwing out the insults?

Not me? It's like your thankbuddy Parade, he's always calling me Beer Pride and then get's mad when I respond. My 1st post to you wasn't personally insulting towards you at all. It's always YOU with the insults.

You know what your problem is, you think you're smarter than everyone else. A man that believes that, well, usually they're short on something, maybe esteem, whatever, I'm trying to be polite here.

Your other problem is that YOU always have to have the last word, just look to any point I've made that wasn't suggesting your superior intelect. This is especially bad behavior for a forum Mod, which is why, honestly, I enjoy responding to you.

However, if I actually had the option to ignore you.... I most definitely would! Believe me. Not cuz you're the dumbest guy in the World, but cuz you think you're the smartest! I've never seen you agree, or accept a differing opinion on this forum.

Usually a sign a of a very insecure person. But whatever, I know baseball, I played baseball, I have my opinions, and I won't force them down anyone's throat, like you. I think the Cubs are going to shock the World this year.

That has always been my stance, even when you suggested I am emotional, and need to have patience with an inexperienced team. I've got a suggestion for you, take your own advice. The Cubs are 3-2, they pulled out a game against the Rox when they were not at their best (my original point).

There is no reason at this point of the season to make statement like you are making. YES, the Cubs will play better, and their play in the 5th game of the season is NOT going to dictate their season!! No matter how many people you suggest your awesome opinion to.

Now do us all a favor, and be a Mod, and move on, ignore my future posts, and I will do the same. Something tells me we'll all be much happier!

Growing up in STL in the 80's I have a special apperciation for the type of player he is. Watching Vince Coleman, Willie McGhee and Ozzie tear up the base paths was fun.
