I think it's just our young players going through funks. Hopefully they can adjust and our offense can be what it was in May

As bad as the offense is now, I believe it will be very good at times before this season ends. Bryant is looking lost right now. That won't last.

Fowler and Russell are starting to get on.

Schwarber!

And that doesn't include additions - trades or Baez or whatever. And Castro certainly is a better hitter than he has shown lately. He may hit better in the next two months.

Bryant is what concerns me the most, actually. Some people can never regain their confidence once it's gone. Not saying his confidence is gone by any means, but like you said he looks lost out there and that scares me. But I'm pessimistic as **** lol my analysis doesn't mean much

And to your other point, I'm not sure where Baez would fit in the team right now unless we trade Castro. Schwarber needs to be playing LF when he's not catching.

If Bryant wasn't a solid kid from a good family with a baseball coach dad I might be concerned, but he is and I'm not. Rookies struggle. All rookies.

So word is2 weeks before Montero can start baseball activities. Add to that Baez is close to starting up again. So what will they do?

I can't see them demoting Schwarber again.

Now there are teams out there looking for catchers. Montero's value is soaring this season. So this is an option. Think Sea. And Minn. are both looking.

Tough call to be honest but Schwarber has put himself into this spot now.

Yeah...lots of rookie start hot. It will be adjustments, and number of weaknesses discovered to exploit. What kind of holes does Scharber have now or will he be susceptible too?

I saw him go after some high cheese here or there. He isn't the best yet at the pro slider/curve. But when he catches you. damn. Jeff Franceur is an example of a guy who came up and hit .400 for a while until things caught up to him. Steroid era as well.

Also....did anyone notice that Schwarber's skull changed? Hard to tell with he weight gain, but I'd worry about HGH already. I have no idea why someone like him who isn't even majors ready would be trying to get here early by batting .400 but....I hate this world where we can't trust it.

But that dude is sporting what I call "dyno-belly" his gut is distended like dorian yates. He isn't even fat except gut. That means supplements, hopefully legal.

I think I would switch Bryant and Soler in the lineup. Soler is coming out of his funk it appears.

I'm not worried about Bryant at all. All rookies struggle, pitchers adjust and he's shown he can adjust back. He's always had a good head on him and I really trust the leadership the Cubs have in place to help him get back on track. Russell is the one I'm most concerned about, but he is only 21 so it's hard to expect a lot from him. Would like to see him get that average to around .250 though. Would help the offense a ton

Last nights game ended past midnight in Cinci, would be awesome to win 3 games on the same day. Let's go

Most definitely man, all rookies struggle. Like I said, I'm just extremely pessimistic when it comes to my sports teams lol I guess growing up a Bears and Cubs fan will do that to ya!

Russell has shown signs of life at the plate lately. I'm still convinced he's going to be a very good hitter but it may not be this year and it may not be next. It's improvement you're looking for so I watch him very closely when he comes to back. Recently he looks looser up there like he's not trying so hard and the numbers reflect it. His slash line the last 7 games is .278/.458/.278 let's hope he keeps it up.
