My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
Ross had better produce at the plate, too. That's why they signed him. [/green font]

Who ever bet that Russell would hit his 1st career HR before Bryant, go collect your winnings, you earned them

Really feel like today's game shows the power of a patient line up and pitchers who have good command.

Peralta 114 pitches(65 strikes) in 5.2 IP having given up 8 hits and 2 walks
Lester 78 pitches(48 strikes) in 6 IP having given up 3 hits and 1 walk

Peralta is probably done after this inning. Lester might pitch 1-2 more.

Why does Maddon do this? What a waste

He has Lester bat in the bottom of the 7th only to pull him before he throws a pitch in the 8th.

He did this last time too. Lester is literally the worst hitter in history as of right now. I mean, the bench isn't that bad that Lester should be getting extra ABs. Could have plugged in Montero/Castillo and had them catch the rest of the game

Some bad base running today cost some runs. I love aggressive, but you have to be smart aggressive. Couple of bad reads. Didnt cost the game or anything so no biggie just need to tighten it up.

Oh, I just wanted to say to people that get nervous with our bullpen. Read a tweet. Take away Schlitter and the Cubs bullpen ERA is under 2.00. They have done their job even through injuries.

Good to see Lester get a solid game behind him. Russell got a hold of one. Bryant 2 BB's. Ya why pitch to him?

I don't like 1 run games but I'll take any win.

Wasn't able to watch the game but Lester finally got his first win when I didn't have time to predict it lol

Offense seems disappointing for the 2nd straight game but a win is a win

Lester has allowed 4 runs in his last 17 innings, and two of those were Billy Hamilton scoring after getting on 1st and the ball never left the IF.

That was due to Lester allowing SB's, which is certainly a concern, but what I am saying is, he wasn't getting hit. The two games prior to today were OK.

Good to see the Cubs follow up a stinker against the Pirates with a tight win like this. The makeup of this team is impressive for how young they are.

Despite having trouble with his command to start the season Lester's overall numbers for the season good. When you break it down he's only had a couple of bad innings and his FIP is 2.40 currently 8th in all of MLB.

I still consider him a #2 SP. But I consider Arrieta a #1. Jake is going to get a nice pay hike in Arb after this year.

Fip: Arrieta 2.57, Lester 2.40, Hammel: 3.15, Wood 3.38, Hendricks 3.31

Not that bad to be honest.
