You were whining about Happ's arm. Recognizing that you have a problem is the first step in solving it
Ummm wrong
Put your glasses on and re-read

I like Almora a lot. I *love* Schwarber. I think it just seems like I'm more on Almora because up until recently I don't think people saw the value. It was sort of the same way I talked about Hendricks pre 2016. I tend to focus more on people I don't think the narrative is right on. Also why I talk a lot about Heyward.

Alzolay pitched monday, so if he starts for the cubs on Saturday itll be on 4 days rest...

I'm sure theyll only expect 4 innings from him unless he doing well...

I can see it. But honestly if they are babying him right now I doubt it. He started late in spring training. He really hasn't gotten to full speed yet. Last game he got pounded so his stuff is not where you want it yet.

Honestly they are 6 deep in their rotation right now where they could just bump up Tseng to pitch after Monty and keep Alzolay on regular.

It is really not about generating excitement. It is about development and protecting their prized arms. Tseng has proven that he is expendable right now and being abused is really not a issue.

Almora honestly has taken the next step in his development. We knew going in that he could hit near .300 with plus CF D. He is just doing what we expected.

Schwarber is still in process IMO. Going through a slump ATM and seeing his SO's up tick. He needs to readjust.

My biggest disappointment in general is Heyward. Russell is #2. Too much talent wasted there. Rizzo is off this year. And I'm not sure if he is hiding a injury honestly. He came off the DL and really never synced. Team would be better off with Bryant at 1B and Baez at 3B if Rizz needs to get 100%.

Schwarbs couldn't hardly have hit that liner any harder. And what did he get for it? A double play. An entertaining double play, but nonetheless...

His average has dropped some vs RHP but he's still hitting .261/.376/.543 for a 146 wRC+ with 15.6 %/22.0 % bb/k rates vs RHP. I think his K rate there had dipped to maybe 20-21% at his best. So, not really much of an uptick. Regardless, the reason I *love* Schwarber is clearly he's not fully baked. That 146 wRC+ is in comparison to Bryant who's at 127. And while that may not be entirely fair given Bryant is a RH batter, Rizzo last season hit .277/.398/.507 for a 135 wRC+.

Simply put, if and when Schwarber consistently hits LHP he may very well be the best hitter the cubs have including Rizzo and Bryant. I don't talk as much about Schwarber as mentioned but I honestly think he can hit .300 in his prime. And if he does you're potentially talking about a .300/.400/.600 type bat.

Maybe. He does't take days off for sure. Then is 100% involved in the offseason. But it gets to a point where you have to recover and I really don't think that he did.

McCarthy 5.58 ERA coming into this game, pitching like he owns the cubs hitters tonight...

You realize Rizzo is hitting .289/.389/.667 in May right? I mean his April was clearly shitty but if that's not 100% I can't wait til he is.
