His average has dropped some vs RHP but he's still hitting .261/.376/.543 for a 146 wRC+ with 15.6 %/22.0 % bb/k rates vs RHP. I think his K rate there had dipped to maybe 20-21% at his best. So, not really much of an uptick. Regardless, the reason I *love* Schwarber is clearly he's not fully baked. That 146 wRC+ is in comparison to Bryant who's at 127. And while that may not be entirely fair given Bryant is a RH batter, Rizzo last season hit .277/.398/.507 for a 135 wRC+.
Simply put, if and when Schwarber consistently hits LHP he may very well be the best hitter the cubs have including Rizzo and Bryant. I don't talk as much about Schwarber as mentioned but I honestly think he can hit .300 in his prime. And if he does you're potentially talking about a .300/.400/.600 type bat.
I would rather see thoise projections in hindsight. Patterson was a sure fire prospect.... I'm glad that he went out and focused on his weight and his D. But I see him as a platoon split ATM that you are getting more D than expected. When he kicks it up like Almora did then he will be that.
I like what he has done, Just like what Almora has done. I really don't care about what he could be. That is pointless to think of.
