Everyone can blame it on what they want.....injuries, bullpen, defense or the manager but the single most important thing on why they lose games is lack of hitting. How many games have we seen identical to tonight's? Too damn many. Shit pitchers for 7 innings and they can manage all of 2 runs on four fucking hits. The amount of overall runs they have scored is skewed by the fact that they score in bunches, usually one game in a series then go dry for games on end. It's been going on all fucking year....actually for two years. Time to walk away for awhile....it has become too frustrating to watch.

They are the 1970 Orioles under Earl Weaver....waiting on the HR to save them. No ability to manufacture runs any other way. The best bunter on their team is a pitcher. Cant hit a sac fly. Lots of celebrating and enthusiasm when the are winning 9-2, lifeless at all other times

Its a different league. Homers are king and small ball is not there. Adam Dunn would have thrived in this era

Then the Cubs need to hit more HRs. Whatever it is they're doing isn't working.

I just hope Joe got Lucroy in the game enough to appease his going back home so he does not put him in the starting lineup today.

Iowa, fights back last night to hold off elimination with the first home playoff win in 11 years.

What is happening with these call ups that just keeps depleting their roster for guys Joe is just going to use in blowouts?
I sincerely hope you are not implying the major-league team should base its roster moves on the minor-league team’s chances of winning a meaningless playoff game

Russell hit in head and out

This team is dead man walking...whatever it takes to lose

Can see them finishing 5 back easier than making playoffs

I know our hitting been stinking it up but Lester who is our number one starter our ace going into this season looks to be done, in terms of top flight pitcher. Age 35 his best years our behind him.

Cubs thread becoming a ghost town. Most of the usual suspects have given up.

Do you pay any attention to other games, or other teams??
The whole game is HR or bust and it has been the subject of much discussion nationally on all sports shows.

DOESNT HAVE TO BE THAT WAY. IF THE CUBS HAD A COUPLE OF SMALL BALL PLAYERS ESPECIALLY AT LEADOFF THEY WOULDNT BE IN THIS MESS. IT'S WHY THEY LOSE SO MANY ONE RUN GAMES

I have not had a chance to watch the games. I guess it will be this way going forward since I wont have the network and all the ABC and WGN games going away on weekends at work.
