Only thing left worth keepin on the Cubs is the manager. Look at this roster. Look at the crap they keep sending him. I count at least 5 guys that should have never played a ML game and there are a handful of veterans who are only slightly better. Yet, there they all are in Cub uniforms. Ross has done a nice job with the garbage he's had to deal with.

Magill has been crap at Iowa. But for some reason Jed keeps pulling his number. 6.75 ERA there. What he had going in the majors was lack of info vs talent.

Jed should eject Megill ASAP. Open a 40 man spot. Then add Ben Leeper and recall him. 1.19 ERA and .75 WHIP at Iowa.

Maples and Steel are at the beginning of their rehab stints. So I would give them a full week.

Williams pitched and had a positive result. I could see Alozay demoted to Iowa and Willams inserted.

Steel IMO should be stretched out. LH depth is solid right now. They need starting pitching more.

Maples IDK to be honest. I would promote Leeper and drag out Maples rehab. Maybe demote Thompson to stretch out as a starter with Steel.

They both now have MLB exposure and belong in the league. But they are both starters. It is time to get them ready to take over in the rotation.

Bryant 4 for his last 52. Move them all before they tank their value completely

no no no! We have to hurt our future by giving him 8 years and 240 million+!

now is the time to trade him while he still has decent value. While teams can still look at his overall numbers this year and think they are getting something good.

The real question is who gets to. 200 BA first Heyward or Happ. Heyward was really grabbing for it and got kicked off the cliff. Now Happ decided to toss his hat into the race.

This is the best story of 2021.

Telling ya. Bryant and Kimbrel to Sox for Vaughn and Stiever. Get it done.

The rest of then will get wet garbage. It would be a cash dump. Nothing else.

Rizzo and Contreras could probably get good returns. Idk why anyone would give up much for Baez.

Gold Glove SS with 30 plus homerun power and could steal ya 20 bags. They grow on trees in baseball

GG shortstop that might end up hitting .200 and closing in on 300 strikeouts if they let him play enough. They are certainly rare.

I love Javy and hope we can keep him around at a reasonable price and throw him at the bottom of the lineup. In the middle he is a detriment to the team though with his approach

yeah, not sure why there’s this notion that only Bryant and Kimbrel are desirable players to other teams.

Well @CSF77 think happ can bring back value but that javy has none. Personally I think neither have much value, but javy certainly has more

they both certainly have value, how much value is the question. And what will determine that is how many teams end up being interested. If they can create a bidding war for some of these guys, the returns could be more than what people think.

that said, I imagine Javy could net a couple prospects. Especially if a contending team has its shortstop get hurt. Isnt Seager of the dodgers hurt right now? Isn’t he always hurt? Maybe LA looks at Javy and figures he’s a nice rental to help ensure they don’t lose out because seager is hurt. They did it with machado a couple years ago. And LA always has prospects it seems

happ, i could see a mid market team deciding that they will take the chance on the guy since he still has some team control left. Now, you certainly won’t get the quality prospects they would of gotten had they traded him this past offseason, after his great first half to 2020…but something is better than nothing, and nothing is pretty much what Happ has given them. He does still have the potential to figure it out so to speak…he’s only 26 still

Well, this one is over pretty much already. Cubs will be lucky to score one run looking at today’s lineup

It would be fun to throw Alzolay out there. At least home runs are fun to watch. Damn I hate the guy

did he like **** your high school girlfriend back in the day or something?! Like I get not being super high on his potential, but to say “damn I hate the guy” sounds like there’s some back story to it or you just need to smoke some weed

He is overrated and we could have traded him for something. I'm a bit soufr that we gave up so much for Quintana, let him go, and now we have a worse version of him and no farm system to show. He will become good, like everyone else, once he is gone too
