So interesting notes beyond the obvious wtf's at the top of the list, this is supposed to be where the cubs are "bad". Last year they struggled comparatively vs RHP. But I'm guessing the numbers look better this year given the two headed monster Baez and Schwarber have been vs RHP. Even Schwarber's K rate is down(like Baez's) to a reasonable 22%. Their BABIP's at .389 and .387 aren't even hyper inflated. Baez is a career .330 BABIP guy and Schwarber while not having a great BABIP in the majors thus far(.267) did have a .384 BABIP in the minors. He's not likely to keep that but like Baez wouldn't shock me to see him settle into the .330 range eventually. Like wise Heyward's BABIP is .293. In other words, this probably isn't luck and they are likely just hitting the shit out of the ball. Obviously in the case of Baez and Schwarber the slugging will come down over time but the average and OBP look like they could hold some what decently.
