If you want to be champions, you play the team there. To be scared of a team in baseball is just comical. This is a weak hitting Mets team that has all kind of arm problems right now. Everything has broke their way and the Cubs are on a slide. The Cubs are a much more complete team.
Not scared just realistic. And yeah this is my point I'm very aware the Mets can't. They are one of the worst in the league but they do well when they play the Cubs. Certain teams just play well against others. I will always support the Cubs through bad and good. I think they are more than capable of beating the Mets it's just they are not doing it and haven't been. I don't fear the Mets I just think from a strategic view you much rather face the other teams come playoff time.

Listen, when your best pitcher in 2016 gives up 8 runs in 2 innings, after having given up only 6 in his last 40, then it ain't your day. Explain to me how massive trading fixes that?
Nobody said to make massive trades...

They have a rookie Catcher and a .190 hitter playing LF
They have a .230 hitting SS , who been hitting .200 over the last 30 games.
A .180 hitting catcher in Montero
And Heyward, who their stuck with

A blah bench when it come to PHitting

Some bullpen question marks

A starter in Hammel who always struggle in 2nd half and looks to be headed that way again

All I'm saying is, start the guys that are on the team and hitting well every game..
Baez at short
Contreras at Catcher

Try and bring in a LH LFer who can either plat every day or platoon with Bryant if he has trouble against lefties..
Someone like Riddick

Try and upgrade bullpen

Try and upgrade from Hammel in rotation..

Hammel would probably Be an upgrade to pen..

So, not massive.. Just 2 or 3 moves

Most is just playing guys everyday that deserves it now over the ones that been struggling all year

That's a lot if moves and unlikely to happen. What makes more sense is to get the injured guys back, get a lefty pen arm and assess what you have. Maddon plays different lineups every day. This week was the first time all season he played the identical lineup two days in a row. If your putting out a lineup with Fowler, Heyward, Bryant, Rizzo, Zobrist, Baez, Russell and one of the catchers daily it's one of the best in the game, Soler might make it better and you have a bench player in La Stella to make contact late. The bullpen needs work but Edwards looks good for one the slots so far and you need a LOOGY. A lefty bench bat would be nice but not necessary and a starting pitcher pretty much falls in that category. This has been a bad stretch with a bunch of injuries and bad timing. They have work to do and they know it.

I seriously may have to stay off Cubs sites for a while until they right the ship. This stretch sucks, it is by no means an indication that the team sucks.

Lol....

If the plan is developing, then ok..
You stick with Russell, the merry go round in LF, etc etc

But don't complain come August and their just another team in middle of pack surviving off their start...

If the plan is to go to a WS this year and taking advantage of hot start...

Need to sit guys that aren't helping the cause and go get guys that are upgrade to them..

If the true internal goal is to make the playoffs year after year and squeeze at least 1 world series out of that, which has basically been said, I think that will be the situation we are in.

I hear ya. I've been staying away a bit more myself lately. Tired of reading the whining, crying, trade em all crap that's here daily. I got one mope blocked, I may add a few more.

This team will lose somewhere around 60 games. Doesn't matter who they lose to, it will happen. Worried about the Mutts? Cubs swept them last year...where did that get them at playoff time? It's early July, this shit means nothing other than Mutt fans getting all cream jeans.

They go home tom. Have an pretty easy stretch and go into the all star break. I kinda wish some of them were gonna make the team, so they can get some rest and recharge. Bryant isnt going to do the home run derby. He said that earlier this year. He says its to hectic. Smart move.

Not sure where you see IF moves abd a lot of it

Just suggested 3 trades that would help the team in area tgey can use an upgrade...

WTF?!! Our starters are getting fucking rocked for no damn reason. I don't know what they're problem is but 4-9 in last 13 games ain't going to cut it. Im just glad they play everyday and will be playing the Red in Wrigley tomorrow and will pummel the **** out them for the next 3 days then Atlanta. Fucking Mets are not doing what they did to us last year in the NLCS. They don't have Murphy who fucking killed the Cubs almost single handedly.
Tell us again how this is the most dominant team of all time, idiot?

I did that already and they block local games if you have WGN availability. MLB is only for remote games not local games

I would have dropped dish like a stinky turd, your loyalty for playing along with them is a waste.

It would cost me hundreds to get out of the contract

I think you have an out because of the wgn crap. Also them blocking you from the MLB network sounds like total BS. They should be getting a lot of calls from angry subscribers that should make them give in and pay WGN's price.

Pardon my language.....but you are one colossal fucking idiot.

Yeah no shit. C'mon man these aren't the 69 Cubs. For one thing that Cardinals are not the 69 Mets. The Cardinals are probably going to finish at most 10 games over .500. The Cubs are easily going to finish 40 games over at least. Cubs are going to win the division by double digits. That's what the cushion built the Cubs. Some breathing room to get through a poor stretch with a lot of guys on the DL. Were going to be getting Fowler back sometime this week. That's great news and combine that with the Reds, Braves, and Bucs and the Cubs should win at least 6 of their last 7 games going into the break. Then they play the Rangers which will be a big series but I see the Cubs sweeping them. I just do. With 4 days off and a 7 game winning streak the Cubs could easily get on a huge roll and wrap up the division by early September. The just let guys rest and get them ready for the playoffs. We are in really good shape. Just have to pitch and hit a little better
