Alot of young talent in lineup, but shows how much they need Fowler and Rizzo .

@JoeFrisaro: For the second time this year, and first since April 20, Chen has made it through seven innings. #Marlins

  2. Orlando Magic
  3. Phoenix Suns
  4. Sacramento Kings
  1. Columbus Blue Jackets
Cubs fans need to significantly lower their expectations about this team.

They are not odds on favorites to win the WS just one of 8 good teams in contention.

They could easily get swept again in the playoffs this year

The Cubs lost...... damn, they need to make some trades so they can win every game.

Didnt say that, but we do have a few idiots here arguing that they are better than the 1927 or 1939 Yankees. Fact is this is jut a very good team like a number of other very good teams in the league. I'm also sensing they are a "pile on" team that scores an overkill of runs when it isnt necessary but has a really hard time coming back when they are down

Yep, and they have a chance to win it all this season. Remember how well GS did in the regular season this year, most wins ever in the regular season, somebody once said "it don't mean a thing without the ring".

Earth shattering news from this Cubs fan, they are beatable like every other contender and I'm certainly not ready to declare them the best team ever.

The wheels are coming off and it's not the break yet. I am already seeing this team fade into infamy with the '69 Cubs.

They tore it up the first 2 months with hot bats and hot pitching.
The pitching been good still but they don't really have anyone swinging the hot bat the last week.
Most of their hitters are all streaky and right now, their all in a bit of a cold spell...

They seem to really miss Fowler, and a healthy Rizzo in the Lineup...

Are the wheels coming off or are they just hurt? Take the starting CF, the starting LF, the #4 OF off of most teams and they are going to struggle. You then take off their utility guy(La Stella) and have a starting catcher who's been iffy and looks hurt and of course they are going to struggle. It doesn't help that Heyward until recently played like shit and Rizzo while playing good isn't playing like a top 5 NL MVP candidate he was last year. I get why people get frustrated but prior to the season did we realistically expect Almora and Contreras to see real playing time in June?

In my eye's you're seeing an incredibly young team struggle with consistency. Whether or not that gets better or whether they go out and buy a rental like Reddick I don't know. But largely I think their pitching is fine. They just need more consistency on offense. They are second in the majors in runs/g but you would know it on games like tonight or the last 3.

Indeed, the Cubs are in danger of falling to an insurmountable 22 games above .500 before July. Stick a fork in these turkeys, they're done.

The Cubs could get their doors blown off the next 6 games and it still wouldn't be time for anything more than mild concern.

Yes...

Im very interested in seeing how they reshape the position players once everyone returns in next week or so..

Does Almora go back down ? Do they release Cogs ?
Montero go on DL? Trade Soler ?

They got some decisions to make soon

What other option did he have?
Montero , the worse hitting Catcher in league
Rizzo hurt
They already used Szczur

I said before, Maddon likes a bench with multiple position guys and 3 catchers , but he has no one who can actually come through consistently in a pinch.

My point is why is he even on the team to begin with?
