I hope so, he might be too amped up.

Arrieta became the pitcher he is since Baltimore did not allow their pitchers to ruin their arms throwing nothing but cutters when he was there. He needs to get over it.

Wasn't ruining their arms. A cutter is held to the side like a slider. Fastball they get behind the fastball. The notion was a pitcher would lose a few MPH off their fastball due to this. I really don't get it but might be muscle memory related.

Mario threw a cut fastball which is not held like a cutter. They are not the same pitch

I mean I know Miley is a lefty but is it really smart to DH Jay rather than Schwarber?

Arrieta has managed to pitch himself out of a huge contract only because of walks. I'm sure somebody will offer him something but nothing like he could've got if he would've only pitched half as good as his Cy Young year. He may have to sign a one year deal with the Cubs and try to crank it up next year.

Cubs are 14-6 against left hand starting pitching. The best in all of baseball. That stat surprised me.

It's pretty stunning that he doesn't complain just comes in with his little playing time and always makes an impact it seems.

Right down central for strike three with two in scoring position.

Nice at bat.

One of us on this board knew what we were getting.

Heyward seems to be back on track. If he is big in the second half it'll be quite a boost.

Huge triple for Heyward. I wonder if the 6-0 is going to be enough tonight haha

Cubs really should have saved some of these runs for the next game. Poor showing on their part.

I'm happier seeing singles up the middle from Baez, and a walk, than I would be seeing a HR right there.

Opposite field hits, good D (in spite of one error), two out hits.....all good signs.

It's not like he's bad at 3B.
No he not bad..
He just looks a little awkward there to me..

He just looks more like an OFer with his long legs and all..
