No he not bad..
He just looks a little awkward there to me..

He just looks more like an OFer with his long legs and all..

He'd probably be "better" defensively in a corner OF but cubs have enough OF's who can't play daily at the moment and I think you'd rather say Zobrist in LF rather than Bryant there and Baez at 3B when Schwarber doesn't play.

Arrieta has managed to pitch himself out of a huge contract only because of walks. I'm sure somebody will offer him something but nothing like he could've got if he would've only pitched half as good as his Cy Young year. He may have to sign a one year deal with the Cubs and try to crank it up next year.

I wouldn't worry about Jake's financials. If he's passable the rest of the year he'll get something like 5/$130, if he goes on a tear maybe 6/$170 on the top end. He's not getting the $240 mil he was looking for but never underestimate the stupidity of baseball owners.

So a drop off of around $100 million is no cause to be upset.....

When are these guys gonna learn that the only way to shut down the shift is to bunt to the vacated side? Just dumb baseball.....take what they're giving you.

Would you notice it, if you were earning $26 million a year?

Think he will have to sacrifice anywhere?

yep, and yet nobody complains about it. But when Javy or Willson dont use the entire field they squawk.

Really? Are you serious? You should use green text. I don't care how much you make....you notice $100 million. Bill Gates would notice $100 million.

By "notice", I mean, Would you feel it?"

Would it impact your quality of lide?

Can you afford to do something at, say, $30 million per yesr that you can't at $26 million?

Just one series but this team looking hard to beat, bats are alive.

Has the team mentality become "it's time to play"?

Hendricks comes back to last years form which would be a huge lift and with Quintana who I feel will pitch lights out...creates that competitive feel for the whole staff to be better.

So if the starters pitch up to their capable levels, which is very possible the biggest question mark for me would be middle relief. Hoyer was on the radio Friday and said another trade is very likely.

Should be a fun 2nd half.

yeah of course Milwaukee would open the second half with a sweep too!

Oh well...5 1/2 games back in both the division and wild card. Just keep winning at a good rate and see what happens

Hadn't had fun watching a Cubs starter striking people out like that since Rich Harden.

Let's hope they keep it going.
