Bryant is better than Harper this year.

Trout is a 6.9fWAR.

Kris Bryant is a 6.6fWAR

Bryant is def. in their category.

In terms of pure hitting, Bryant could be Top 5 in baseball. But regardless of fWar or any other stat, Bryant is not in Trout's category. You won't find a single person alive other than perhaps you and Fat Blimp who feel that way.

If the Angels offer you Trout for Bryant straight up -- You do it with out blinking an eye. And despite Bryant's numbers versus Harper's down year this season, you won't find many people who will take Bryant over Harper straight up either.

Nobody else is in Trout's class either and probably won't be in the foreseeable future so you just have to judge the rest on their merits. Makes me sorts sick to think that his entire prime is likely to be spent on a losing team.

Um, what? Kris Bryant is third in fWAR in the entire majors. He is 6th in wRC+. He is 7th in wOBA. He is 6th in .OPS. Add into it that Trout has a 144 million dollar contract and is due for a 300 million dollar contract in 3 years. You know what Bryant is making this year 700K. He is on pace to be around a 9fWAR by seasons end which beats Trout's season last year as well. Trout is the best player in the league, but if we are talking price to production. There is probably no one better in the league. Bryant is 24 and is the leader for MVP right now. That makes him a top 5 player.

Not only do you not even watch the games, you don't even read the posts you are responding to. The entire basis of my original comment was Russell could ultimately end up the best.

I'm not going to say you are a seriously compromised individual with a border line IQ -- because that would be mean.....but.....it is best to remain silent and have people assume you are a moron, then to actually speak and confirm it.

It's like talking with a two-year old, except without the redeeming cuteness.

We're not talking to price to production. We're talking about who is a better player overall. Not a 4-month sample size - who is better, period.

In your heart of hearts you would take Kris Bryant over Trout? To me that is absolutely insane. It's like taking Anthony Davis over Lebron James.

My beef wasnt Trout. My beef was that you think Harper is better even though Bryant is having the better year and is in his 2nd year in the league. He has the 12th most homers in history for a guy in the league for 2 years. Bryant has only got better since he stepped foot on a Cubs diamond.

You lose Trout....you lose your centerfielder. You lose Bryant...you lose a third baseman, a left fielder, a right fielder and a first baseman. Bryant is affordable for 6 more years...Trout's salary is a nutcracker.

I'm not sure I would deal Bryant for Trout.

I'd have an awfully tough time picking Kris Bryant straight up over Bryce Harper. I love Bryant -- he's a monster. And Harper's having a down year. But if the Nat's offered Harper for Bryant straight up -- I just don't think I could turn that down. I think Harper's the second best player in the baseball.

But hey - that's just my opinion. And I love Bryant. Can't wait to see him at his peak. The guy could hit 50 HR's.

This isn't a real conversation outside of Homer Cubs fans. Trout is by far the best player in the game. You put Baez at 3B, move Fowler to LF and you win the World Series in 4 games.

They would. Longevity Bryant has longer shelf life. Trout is starting to decline. Already his CF D is not elite anymore. Soon he will be another Pujos.

Bryant has some intangibles that Harper will never possess. If the Nats called and offered Harper straight up for Bryant, I'd tell them to pound sand.

Best OF D is Fowler LF, Heyward CF, Bryant RF. Not even close. I'm guessing they don't want to risk Bryant to injury playing OF full time. That is something he would have to condition his body for in the off season

I tend to agree and I like Harper a whole lot. I think the temperament that Bryant beings to the game helps him whereas Harper's could hurt him and this isn't a "playing the right way" thing either. I just see a difference in their personalities that with the skills so close, admittedly in favor of Harper and taking into account that they each bring different skills, I'd take Bryant 10 times out of 10.

Cool. Just like that. Didn't know it was that easy. Maybe you can pay him his $100 million over the last 3 years of his deal. Doubtful that Ricketts will.

BTW, when you're done spending care to enlighten us on how much tickets will cost.

Please point out where I said Bryant was in Trout's category, or even implied it. Thanks!

Yep, just like that. Glad you see it my way.

BTW tickets would be $5.00 each.

You'd put the 3rd best OF in RF instead of LF?
