Same reason the Pirates lost seven in a row to the Brewers before yesterday.

I'm not concerned about the 2 games, that's just the nature of baseball, I am however concerned about the bullpen moving into the playoffs. It might not be a factor in the WC game, but it will be in the NLDS if they are fortunate to get there.

Bullpen will be shortened down to using mostly 4 or 5 guys in close games..

Grimm Wood Strop Rondon and maybe Ramirez if he 100%

Starters, especially Lester and Arrieta need to go deep into games if Cubs are going to have a chance to win a series


Bullpen for the most part has been flawless all year, so hopefully those guys i mentioned will be clicking again when needed..

You can use Hendricks and Haren also to come in particular situations to try and induce a ground ball or something like that.

When they get to the NLDS (see what I did there?), Maddon will probably use his gut more than anything to try and steal wins against the Pirates (see what I did there?). :lol:

Agree and exactly why the Mets couldn't get a win over the Cubs.

That why when Lester and Arrieta pitches they need to go deep into the games so the bullpen not needed except maybe 8th inning or closer..
Keep them fresh for Hammel and Hendricks starts if they go with 4
