He was only able to get his 4 seamer over the plate so he was predictable.

They won, that should build confidence.

Seems kind of weird, since the winning run came across in the 9th at least according to my app

The 9th inning run did turn out to be the game winner I guess given the lousy next half inning but the Cubs never actually lost the lead

Hammel has really bounced back after his punishment of going to the AL. He has only given up 5 BB to date. 35 hits in 38.1 IP. He has been the most contestant starter to date.

With Wood and Hendricks lining up I would hope they give Strop and Rondon 2 days off and let the rest of the pen soak those innings.

Coke: 5.19 ERA 1.73 WHIP. BA .351. I'm surprised they have stuck with him with those numbers.
Motte 3.55 ERA 0.95 WHIP BA: .182
Rosscup 2.38 ERA 0.71 WHIP .146 BA Almost want him in on days that Rondon and Strop are used. He has been really good.
Jackson 1.86 ERA 1.14 WHIP .250 BA He has only given up 1 BB. I like that he is attacking this year.
Russell 3.86 ERA 1.29 WHIP .300 BA
Grimm 0.00 ERA 0.00 WHIP .000 BA

They have some depth going on right now that they could put Motte in as closer "B" with Grimm as his 8th inning and Jackson as the guy to get you there. I see no reason to tax Strop and Rondon.
