Because deep in the recesses of Wrigley, the other 24 players on the Cubs have secret occult meetings to ensure that they never score a run when Jeff Samardzija is starting in hopes that it's a reverse pshcyology ploy on the other teams to only pay attention to his W/L record in order to keep him in a Cubs uniform forever.

Junior Lake took an enormous shit on that play. And then he trots to the wall and allows both runs to score and puts a man on third.

Really like those interactions in the dugout between Junior Lake and Rick Renteria/Travis Wood. As much as I've dogged Renteria, I think he's done a nice job developing rapport with the younger guys. Travis Wood just seems like a fantastic teammate. He needs to be extended, like yesterday. Would've loved a Matt Moore-type extension over the previous winter.

I never thought his hit tool was strong enough to be Glaus, but love that as a comp for Bryant to be honest.
