I know what you were referencing. Sending the player wouldn't have have mattered if the big FA pitcher and defense had performed better in the first inning.

Not saying you, but I have no problem with them sending Rizzo. If Molina muffs the ball we all would be thinking it was a great play.

Sometimes you put it all on the defense to make a good play. They did. Give them props and move on.

I hope the Cubs send him again if the situation is the same. I happen to like aggressive play.

The Cubs damn near stole one from the Cardinals after not hitting Martinez all day.

Take 5 of 6 from the Cardinals and 3 of 4 from Pittsburgh?

I ain't bitching one bit.

I remain convinced that the Cubs will overtake the Pirates for the 1st WC this week. The biggest peril IMO is a letdown against a Milwaukee club who might be thinking that with a new GM in place they need to show off to save their jobs (never mind that won't matter as a Chicago/Houston style rebuild is coming). Still I don't think that's going to happen as I don't think Maddon would permit that after one loss. The Cubs are playing great baseball down the stretch and I expect that to continue. They have the look of a team that could make a playoff run while Pittsburgh is down a key player (still winning 2 of 3 against a Dodgers team that doesn't scare me a lick) and St. Louis looks rattled and if Molina is hurt could feel that. Steady as she goes boys. The playoffs are coming.

As long as the Cubs are 2 or less games back of the Pirates going in to the series in Chicago, it is going to be nuts in Wrigley. :smug2:

our schedule looks easier, we must win all 6 games against the Brewers

I'll just say this....playing pressure free as teams like the Brewers and Reds will be doing is not a gimme by any stretch. Cubs will have to earn their way, just like they have all season.

13 games left. Reds have played up to the competition for the most part. Brewers they have to just plain beat them down. Pirates series should dictate the WC.
