Ok the dream is over. Now let's catch Pittsburgh and get that WC game at Wrigley.
Because they haven't lived all season on the long ball. Why do teams just play stupid against this Cardinal team? I don't get it. You've lived all season on the long ball....now you're a running team? WTF is going on?
Eh.. and if Soler grounds into a DP, your piss because he didn't try to steal with the guy...He's probably done one of the best managing jobs in Cub history this year....but Joe and his staff should take a long look in the mirror after this one.

I don't disagree but everybody is human. In hindsight that game 2 weeks ago and this one were winnable games and had they won both we'd be in a much different discussion right now. They didn't and this is how it is. Pittsburgh is very catchable and this team can still win 94-95 wins fairly easily. Now I want to see these bastards in the NLDS...
The call to steal wasn't a bad one. Rosenthal has been exceptional all year at limiting XBH (only 8 given up in 64 innings) and Berry's probably safe if he gets a better jump or lead, the pitch isn't 100MPH fastball, or the catcher doesn't make a perfect throw.
The bigger issue for me is once again the Cubs fail to deliver runs with men on second/third and less than two outs.
That is the Kubs way, though. Always has been.
That's it? We going to the Series, baby! Cards can have this game. Wait til we meet in October.
A friend and I were discussing yesterday that Rizzo might need a rest. The Brewer series might be a good time to give him a blow. Wondering who would take over at 1B. Coghlan? Bryant? LaStella? Olt? Oh wait...Agreed. That was a ball he should have caught.
Rizzo's D lately has been shaky.
You mean they may want to pitch Haren instead of Lester so they could give up 3 runs in the first inning? He's probably done one of the best managing jobs in Cub history this year....but Joe and his staff should take a long look in the mirror after this one.

I know what you were referencing. Sending the player wouldn't have have mattered if the big FA pitcher and defense had performed better in the first inning. What is that gibberish? I was making reference to the staff (3b coach) sending Rizzo against the Card's best arm on a medium deep fly ball and Joe's decision to run Berry on a hit n run with Soler(not a good contact guy IMOP)...which I didn't think was necessary. No idea what Haren has to do with this game at all.
