Wouldnt say Almora failed. He did great on defense and on bases. His offense isn't ready for primetime. One thing I do know is that no contending team can have 2 below average hitting OFs

I think that's fair to say that he's not ready yet. But I also think he'll get there and be something like a .280/.320 type with that defense.

I hope so. When he came up I was really excited. Supposedly good average potential with great defense. He is a high character guy that's good for the clubhouse. But he stands too far from the plate which limits his power. He doesn't hit the ball solidly enough. Hope he fixes his issue but if he stayed the whole year I beleive he would finish at .230

One thing I do notice is most of latin Cubs coming up stand away from the plate with an open stance. Who the **** is teaching that?

Also, next year the Cubs could basically have a platoon of Schwaber/Baez and Heyward/Almora if Heyward struggles. Aside from the Montero/Contreras duo, that would leave you Zobrist/Rizzo/Bryant/Russell as regulars. Both of those lineups are more than capable lineups.

Oh god. The Cubs don't have anyone else. That was terrible to watch.

Almora only major lacking is his walk ratio. Which means he is not getting deep into counts. He is getting the ball into play. So this makes him a slave to his BABIP more than any other factor.

I have no idea what the plan for the 12th inning of this game is.

Could throw Hendricks. Would defeat the purpose of the rest day but he was supposed to pitch today anyways.

So if we don't walk off, who will pitch? Can Rondon handle 2 innings?

He's your starter tomorrow so I highly doubt it. Lackey I guess is the answer.

It's ironic that the plan for starting Matsuz was to rest the team but it's instead turned into an all-hands-on-deck situation.

considering where they are in the lineup (3-4-5) and considering the bullpen situation, I'll wager to say that if the Cubs don't score here, they won't win.

We tied it without HR. Let's not feel we need one here. Get men on.

I will take a walkoff HR, mind you. But we need men making contact. And let's not be too proud to take a walk.
