Only been 3 innings, but Alzolay has been impressive.

Strikes out the side in the 6th and follows with a six pitch 7th.

Nice to see a pitcher throwing strikes. He walked one early, but has been throwing strikes since.

I've been following him sense he was at MB. Last year was bad that he lost that developmental time. But as you can see he has legit MLB talent.

4 innings 45 pitches efficient pitching. I like how he attacks the hitters, and moves quickly. Hope he gets a start the next time.

He has retired 11 in a row, and 12 of 13 men faced. Hasn't allowed a hit.

Descalso's AB in our big inning was very nice. But he has three K's since.

I'm glad he did well in AAA, but there is very little "AAA talent".

Starlin Castro is still such a fuckup.

Marlins with a 2 run lead in 11th. Leadoff man on for St. Louis. Tailor-made DP ball to Castro who bobbles it and flips it six feet to the SS, missing his glove by three feet. They get the force, but that is all. Leaves tying run at the plate.

They were lucky the SS caught it barehanded.

Marlins hold on and beat the Cards 7-6 after Cards score a run and get tying run in scoring position. Cards pinch run a pitcher (Flaherty), and he gets picked off at second before a single pitch is thrown. (Same pinch running pitcher that was thrown out at home Friday by 30 feet for final out.) :)

Chatwood is really good at getting x2 plays. There should be no reason to not have Russell at 2 when he starts.

But in general that was a great first game by Albert. Got to the 55 pitch mark. Got tagged in the 9th and honestly I was expecting 4/4 then the closer anyways. Giving him the 9th at all was a good sign.

He had a moment. Crowd cheering and his hat tip. Even Rizzo was like good job kid. He is family now.

Just wondering, had he finished the game, would he have got a win and a save? I assume just a win, but not sure of the rule there.

Ya know that is a good question. I'm guessing just a win.
