Baez strikes fans in the bleacher bum area with baseballs too much. Almost criminal assalt. And those tags are very close to Fraternization with the enemy.

What a bum. Needs to go.

Don't remember Beck ever saying Baez was trash.....but only one guy in here was constantly saying Baez was a superstar waiting to happen. Most everyone thought he had promise but needed work in the batters box....only Silences stepped out.

Wait a sec.....

Wasn't there one asshole who said the Cubs most reliable starter for the last 3 weeks was shit as in "Garbish". Also said repeatedly that the Cubs sucked. Who the hell was that dickwad?
WHOA, Kemosabe!

I was on Baez all along. I recall my brother and I, very early on, looking at him as the guy who "may be teh best of the bunch", and that is with a very huge mancrush on Bryant.

I think a lot of us thought Baez had the potential to be a superstar. You could see that potential back in 2016. The talent was always there, just a little raw. His play last year showed the baseball world what kind of player he is and he still has a lot of upside. My biggest fear has been and will continue to be injuries. His play is dynamic but I do fear him going down, especially as he gets a little older. Other than that he is a blast to watch.

Stop putting words in my mouth. I didn't say Beck said Baez was trash. I said Beck never thought Baez would amount to much in the MLB. Even Beck will admit as much.

You said that Beck said he "wouldn't amount to anything". That would be trash. No way I would ever try to put words in your mouth. You say enough dumb fucking shit on your own.....you don't need any help.

Time out here. Let's see some proof, Tonto. My memory is far from perfect....

<= had a hard on when he broke his first windshield at S/T.

<= Lost that hard on after his 50% strike outs in his debut.

<= Regained it with his D in 2016.

<= Got bigger in 2018.

He is dynamic as a player but the Cubs have other players with that level of talent. You could say Contreras has the same flash impact with his snap throws and huge blasts. Rizzo with his picks at 1B. Bryant with his over all play and willingness to play off position at a high level.

Cubs have stupid talent on this team.

Not amounting to anything does not equal trash. Sorry brah.

There is a story floating around that showed how close Javy was to giving up with everything he was going thru when he was right at the point of making it. Something I think about every time someone writes how much he sucks.

Not a shocking reaction to push Addi to the bench with a lefty in. Schwarber is more fundamentaly sound as a ball player.

You STFU grandpa

More words to live by from the worst poster on this forum......

It bemuses me why people keep coming back here to make fools of themselves went it's quite apparent that no one here finds anything they post to be the least bit relevant. Must be a masochistic thing.

Little off topic.

Was wondering on feed back on a line up like this when Contreras returns. I honestly feel that Baez feels right hitting 2. He does so much as a player that it just makes sense. But you really want to push PA on the highest wRC+. Wilson makes the most sense there. Takes walks and is not a easy out.

Contreras
Baez
Rizzo
Bryant
Schwarber
Garcia
Heyward
Almora and Bote rotating.

Whew no Almora at the top and no Russell in the lineup.

I remember it being like one or two people.

I'm pretty sure that you are right about that. I'm not 100% on who was though. Javy really makes up for his lack off BB% in so many other ways that can not be broken down in advanced metrics. You can attack his DRS then seeing him out there doing a no look tag or a glove toss to addi it really makes you question what makes value or not

We added two better offensive players to the lineup, and got better at three positions defensively - and I am not counting the one where we replaced a guy who missed two popups on Saturday.
