The thing that made that inning so remarkable to me is that Arrieta was never afraid to throw any pitch even with the bases juiced. Ice water in the veins.

Really like the idea of Almora behind all these high OBP guys. He's come through a bunch which helps but him putting the ball in play is usually a good thing.

I sorta feel bad for the pirates. Cubs are 5-1 against them(looking like 6-1) and have outscored them 38 to 13 plus the 5-0 thus far today.

Hahaha so the pirates broadcast on that last play was like "this should be out #2".... 2 seconds later ball drops.

Yeah really not sure. It was a weird play. Sucks that Almora got a FC on that too. Pretty well placed ball.

22 of the first 43 batters the cubs had have gotten on. This game shouldn't even be close but they have failed driving people in

Win 2 of 3 and you can bury the Pirates. Up 13 for this Cubs team is too much for any team to come back from.

Yep and when we sweep the Bucs and Cardinals the NL Central is over. The only thing the Cards or Bucs have a shot at is the wildcard and if they don't start playing better they're not even going to get that.
