That injury really fucked up Hamels....not near the guy he was before he went down.

Post ASG:

Darvish 4-2 2.44 ERA 0.78 WHIP
Hendricks: 4-2 2.94 ERA 1.04 WHIP

Then the lefties

Quintana 7-1 4.67 ERA 1.33 WHIP
Lester 5-4 5.83 ERA 1.76 WHIP
Hamels 1-4 6.49 ERA 1.93 WHIP (not including today)

Well it could be a few things but I'm inclined to believe it is 3 guys with about the same stuff and teams are seeing basically the same guy over and over again. Q has more success because he throws a bit harder than the other 2 at this point. Lester has bad numbers but is a fighter up there. Hamels looks lost right now.

So I'm not sure if it is a lingering injury or not but I have seen his velocity is down around 91 MPH and he was hitting 96 last year so a 5 MPH drop is going to do you in.

Good grief! These Reds announcers are complete jackwagons.

Color guy literally said the reds catcher did not bring that ball that hit Caratini back over the plate. Only "top to bottom".

Dude, he pulled it SIX inches toward the plate.

He honestly is contending that the ball that hit caratini "wasn't even inside".

This after he and Brenaman mocked Caratini's previous swing, and after Thom whined for five minutes about a strike call to the last Reds batter.

Why are the Cubs still playing Juliana Zobrist's version of "Benny and the Jets" as Zoby's walk up song?

Hamels had an oblique strain which is absolutely an injury that lingers. He said as much as soon as it happened, as he has had one once before. He is completely different since that injury. He was quite good before that happened.

Thom, upon Zobrist's hit: "Uh!"

:)

Thom Brennaman. LOL. I used to think he was the worst announcer I ever heard here in Chicago till I heard this other goof named Brennaman doing NFL games. Oh, wait....it's the same guy. He sucks doing multiple sports. Who woulda thunk?

Jesus. Just finish it.

Bullpen had done very well through 5 1/3. Then started allowing runners.

Meanwhile.....Thom Brennaman is insufferable. Just literally insufferable.

It's why I think the Brewers are going to luck up and win the division. I see them getting to 90 wins while the Cubs and Cards hold each other down to 88-89.

Cubs have found their mojo but pitching staff will be high stress against the Cards and where Goldy is right now.

I credit Madden with keeping his ball clubs loose as long as possible, this isn't the first club he has steered that finds its extra gear late and gets it done.

I'm a fan of his body of work even if you guys have gotten exhausted.
