Appatently none if you looked at the remaining schedules a week ago.

The brewers play garbage teams and my guess is they waltz into the division lead ; possibly this weekend as the Cubs-card "battle it out"....while they're pummeling the padres and pirates this week.

If the cubs and brewers tie, the game is at miller park, due to a 9-10 record against them. Currently the cubs are 7-5 against the cardinals, guess what, that is going to come down to one game too. All those games that just did not matter.

Cards already won today. Would have been nice going into tomorrow 1 back. Now let's see if they can keep it 2 back. Wouldn't surprise me if they lose tonight as the Reds have played them well.

At least they teased us for a week. I know if they are 2 back w/ 7 to play vs the Cards it's still good, but my hope is diminishing as the Brewers look like they'll make it.

I was making my predictions based off of today's results.

Nats: 90-72
Stl: 90-72
Milwaukee 89-73 (This is my lowest prediction Could go up to 92-70 based off of ease of schedule)
CHI: 88-74

This final ranking is mostly based off of home field advantage for the Nats going 5 vs Phi and 3 vs Cle. I'm predicting 4-4 over that stretch but sweep of the fish in Mia. Even if Mia squeaks out a game Nats I predicted low at home.

Stl has the hardest match ups. Cubs and D-Backs in Ari. But given they only need to go .500 the rest of the way to hit 90 wins this is not a reach.

Cubs on the other hand have to face the Cards for 7 games out of their remaining 11. Today I'm giving to them but even with that I can't see them just playing smash mouth with Stl.

So today Win
Stl 4 at home. Split. 2-2.
Pit: 2-1 I don't see a away sweep.
Stl 3 away. 1-2.

Just the way I see it based off scheduling.

It is really up to the Cubs to overwrite it.

Ya that run down seems most probable.

One of the most inconsistent teams offensively that I can remember.....they get stonewalled by mediocre pitching so many times. It's like turning your faucet from hot to cold....it changes that fast for them.

Castellanos is so much fun to watch. I can’t recall a recent mid-season Cubs acquisition of a position player that was this good.

Good thing for the passed ball moving Castellanos. Bryant misses moving the runner with a QAB. Schwarber gets the sac fly.
