What time did this game end? I turned it off at the beginning of the rain delay thinking there was no chance they could resume.

Have to disagree with the Marmol comparison. .First bunt was an easy out if he knew the opposing batters speed...which he obviously didn't given the way he forced the play. Plus the fact that I believe both walks scored....regardless of what kind of hit knocked them in. Can't see much of an endorsement of anything he did out there.
My point was that there are other times when he looks lights out on the mound....he's gotta drive Maddon nuts with his inconsistency. Kind of like how Marmol was.
Have to disagree with the Marmol comparison. .
Strop is no where near where Marmol was at end of his Cubs tenure. .
Before yesterday, Strop has gone 13 games and 13 innings between given up runs in his appearances.
So, 13 G 13 IP 4 H 5 BB 0 Runs in between the 2 games in which he given up runs..
Then to even further that comparison , before those 2 back to back bad games he had 14/15 games ago he went.... he went 17 Games where he only gave up 1 run..
So, in his last 30 of 34 games he didn't give up a run
15 walks in those 34 games..
he not even close to marmol..

Die hard comparing Strop as being as bad as Marmol was..Marmol as a closer or Marmol in the 8th? Marmol in the 8th may have been one of the best relievers in Cubs history. Marmol as a closer. Not so much

I totally disagree
Marmoling occurred no matter what inning.Marmol as a closer or Marmol in the 8th? Marmol in the 8th may have been one of the best relievers in Cubs history. Marmol as a closer. Not so much
I still dont see the inconsistencies in Strop..You missed the point. I never said one was better than the other. I'm talking inconstancy....the comparison is valid.
I have lots of confidence in Strop. Every pitcher is going to have a bad outing every now and then.Who out there actually feels confident when Strop comes into a tied or one run game? Be honest.
The only thing I'm confident in is that he'll walk at least one hitter and if the opposition is patient, he'll walk even more. Does he get stressed? I'm sure he does but any pitcher in the major leagues should be able to throw a strike at any time.
we only notice any player when they fail. Not when they succeed.
What pedro strop do you watch on the cubs ?Who out there actually feels confident when Strop comes into a tied or one run game? Be honest.

Besides not given up a run in 30 of 34 appearances, he only given up a walk in 8 of his last 21 appearances and only 3 of those times he walked 2 batters.
you only notice set up men when they mess up , otherwise cause they dont get the saves or notoriety when they hold a lead you don't realize how good they been.
Pedro Strop been near great as a set up this year.. not sure how you can find a reason to complain about him.
Including yesterday, he given up multiple runs 5 times in last 40 appearance. .The difference is when Strop screws up, he gives up multiple runs. It's not one run and the game is tied, he blows the lead and gives up the game.
We only notice BP pitchers when they fail. Not when they succeed.
