Batting 1. 108 wRC+
Batting 8. 147 wRC+

IMO gets in his head to be a run vs drive one in
Yeah...but how many years has it been with Schwarber...moving him around the lineup and always at the end of the season it's a dismal batting average...with tons of strikeouts and missed opportunities. Of course i'm rooting for him to succeed...

Sure you are. Just like you value a player on a batting avg. Welcome to 2019. 1984 was a while back.

This is almost laughable.

MILWAUKEE -- Daniel Descalso's offensive struggles have persisted for the past few months, hindering Cubs manager Joe Maddon's ability to utilize his bench. President of baseball operations Theo Epstein hinted on Friday that Descalso has been playing through some nagging injury issues.

Some clarity on that front arrived Saturday, when the Cubs placed Descalso on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Wednesday) with a sprained left ankle. That move opened a spot on the active roster for lefty Derek Holland, who was acquired from the Giants on Friday for cash considerations.

"[Descalso] hasn't been as productive as we would’ve hoped and it’s killing him," Epstein said on Friday. "He’s a great teammate and a really good player -- and we know [the production is] in there. When he was feeling really good physically in April, it was in there. It’s been hard to pinpoint how much is physical, how much is sometimes you get into bad habits, because you have a little something and they're hard to shake.

"Injuries can linger, even when they’re not really patent. They can flare up here and there and not be [IL] worthy at times, but it’s just been a hard year for him."

Ok this guy has been riding the bench almost every day and Theo pulls a magical Nagging injury. From what getting up and cheer leading?

Best line.

But I'm not going to sugarcoat it, [his production has] not been what we had hoped."

No shit.

Funny thing is, the Cardinals are a real threat..and they are a real threat EVERY DAMN YEAR. But the Cubs? We have this window we have to win in...that is rapidly closing. To get "good" again we're gonna have to have some massive rebuild....AGAIN...while teams like the Cards will just keep on rolling year after year. They may not always win the division..but they are ALWAYS in the mix. It's hard to argue for Maddon to be fired when he's won more games than any other manager in the majors the last 5 years. But...his decisions this year have cost the Cubs dearly. The decision to bring in Strop instead of ANYBODY else cost the team AGAIN tonight. Kaplan is right about Strop...but Maddon is determined to lose this thing....like he did last year. It IS up to the players...but who got the players? The genius Theo...who's big offseason acquisitions were the .180 hitting Descalso and the pathetic Brad Brach. Thanks. I thank Theo for 2016...but whatever "genius" he had is gone. He is getting owned by every other decision maker in baseball. The Cubs will most likely be in 3rd place in a couple days. They have a worse road record than the friggin Marlins for gawds sake. And while we have hitters with good overall numbers....they don't get hits at the right time. We thought this team was gonna make a big 2nd half run...but they are faltering and folding like a cheap suit....while the Cards are exploding; and in a key stretch where Bryant said would decide the season, they come out and play like THIS tonight? Unbelievable.

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!!

That team that you say is a threat "every year" has not been in first place in July in FIVE years.

Brennen Davis

.296/.370/.484.

OF prospect at A ball. Was the #2 pick in 2018. 6'4" 175 So he has the frame to put on size. He is a pure athlete and a projection draft pick.

I was being facetious. I'm saying that Strop has been so bad that we might as well put Brach in to blow the game. At this point, anyone is a better option than Strop. He's either still hurt, or he's done. And honestly, as soon as he hit Braun on the first pitch, who expected any different of an outcome? Joe should've taken him out right there.
So which is it?

Were you kidding?

Or are you seriously saying anyone is better than Strop?

1. Fan of Schwarber #8. All that dude does is take walks. In front of the pitcher he will get pitched around.

2. Happ in front of Schwarber. Means that he will get pitches to hit.

3. Baez dropped down. Extends the line up. It has been a rich man poor man halves.

4. Garcia #1. IDK honestly. Might as well at this point. Lead off has been the major issue and if he gets a ripe 1st pitch fast ball make sure to clock their stupid mascot on the slide.
On the broadcast they have pointed out that Rizzo, Baez and Schwarber have all been terrible vs Anderson.

Let's get that turned around tonight.

He apparently sprained it walking back from checking the lineup card to see that he was not playing again.
