So which is it?

Were you kidding?

Or are you seriously saying anyone is better than Strop?

Why are you having a difficult time following this? Strop has been so bad that literally anyone else can blow the game too. Kind of the joke.

You are alternating between anyone else would be better and anyone else would fail.

Let's just end this. :)

To be fair here.

July Strop 7.00 ERA 5.11 Fip
July Brach 10.80 ERA 8.22 Fip.

That is arguing between a dog shit and a horse shit.

I'm honestly not alternating. The Cubs pen straight sucks, and Strop has been the worst over the last two weeks. Until he gets his shit together, why continue putting him out there in big situations? Just try someone else. Not Brach though.

Both guys having the worst years of their career. That's why I said they might as well put in Brach since they've both been terrible. I wasn't actually advocating putting in Brach.

Good side in July

Ryan 2.35 ERA 2.96 Fip
Cishek 1.64 ERA 5.31 Fip (Been lucky)
Kintzler 4.32 ERA 3.58 Fip This has been his worst month.

Ya they need a 8th inning arm. I feel pretty good about these 3.

Ian Happ doesn't know what a line drive is.

Drops his shoulder on every swing.

If they can't trade for shit I'm down with using Holland as the situational lefty and Ryan as the main set up. Why the **** not at this point.

I thought Cishek, Strop, Kimbrel was going to shorten the games. Strop's gone all Rondon on us. Is Morrow still alive? WTF?

OK, as long as Lester gets that pitch called a strike when pitching, we should all be happy.

He is never coming back. Long toss hell right now. Almost not worth reading his updates.

NEWS
Morrow (elbow) completed a live batting-practice session Thursday at the Cubs' extended spring training facility in Arizona, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.
IMPACT
Morrow has been on the shelf all season following November elbow surgery and has hit multiple snags in recovery efforts. The fact that the right-hander is in the midst of a throwing program is encouraging, but it's unclear when the Cubs will be ready to turn him loose for a minor-league rehab assignment. Realistically, Morrow won't be activated from the injured list until mid-August at the soonest and will likely be deployed in middle relief with Craig Kimbrel now handling closing duties for Chicago.

I haven't even heard an update LOL. What a waste. This team just doesn't have it. With their BP issues and their road struggles, I just can't see them making the playoffs. They have to kick it in gear real fast here. Now would be a perfect time.

Joe loves Ryan and with a legit loogy he might push him into Strops role. IMO that is the best option as of today. We can't go by a trade or Morrow making a come back or a AAA arm just impacting.

I think we are at.

Chatwood as the 2 + inning guy
Brach and Strop doing garbage picking.
Holland situational lefty
Kintzler and Cishek being the bridge
Ryan 8th inning
Kimbrel 9th

Wick is a temp. I could see Alzolay added post rehab stint. Underwood is another pen opt but he has been up and down.

Well at least they have run up Anderson's pitch count. at 81 after 5. 1 more inning is all he is good for. Lester sitting at 50 after 4.
