I think the Thunder's biggest issue was going down by 17 in the first place. I know they've made some great comebacks, heck, the last game was a pretty sick comeback, but they gotta stop digging themselves into these holes to start the game. That being said, they still brought it to within 2 and could've won if a few things had happened differently.

In all honesty, when Sefolosha drove and ended up knocking the ball out, I think that cost them the game. He rushed that play for no reason. Should've brought it back out and gave it to Durant.

Though you could also say if Durant and Harden didn't miss those couple free throws they would've been tied/on top late instead of down. Or if Westbrook didn't keep jacking up jumpers and drove to the basket instead. Or if a foul was called on Lebron at the end (I thought it was a foul, but I could see why they didn't call it).

I'll hand it to Lebron and the Heat though, they closed out the game...sorta decently, which is better than many of us were expecting. Lebron actually made all his free throws for once too. :elephant:

lebron stepped up in the clutch and nailed two FT's to ice the game. Nothing else needs to be said.

If I´m Durant, I would exchange a few words with Westbrook before game 3!

The entire problem with both of these two games, the hole the Thunder dug for themselves to start these games. Seriously, 1-12 to start? Maimi has to be feeling lucky, even with the split.

If the Thunder fix their slow starts, I think this series is over. They had their worst start of, I think, any game this year, and they still nearly won.

As for the end of the game, I can understand why they didn't call the foul on Lebron (and it was a foul, no question about it) when he was guarding KD. But that's not the no-call that pissed me off. It's the no-call on the rebound, when Lebron CLEARLY grabs Westbrooks wrist, which is the ONLY reason he got the rebound to close out the game. That is a blatant, obvious foul that MUST be called.

westbrook's shot selection is the thunder's kryptonite

I cannot even say how many times I screamed "NO DON'T SHOOT!" whenever Westbrook pulled up for a jumper. His strength is his driving and finishing ability, and whenever he did that good things happened, but his insistence to pull up for midrange jumpers in the halfcourt setting...:smh:

But he hits that at a good clip. I have no problems with his pull-up jumper. He needs that. It's a very important part of his overall game that makes him even deadlier. It's the propensity to chuck up ridiculous 3's JR Smith-style that I have an issue with. Also, at times he just doesn't play smart. Case and point: In the 4th quarter, Miami was in the penalty from 9:30 mark until the end of the game. Once that happened his eyes should have lit up & he should've just put his head down & drove the lane EVERY TIME. He didn't. He settled for jumpers. So I guess his shot selection can be kryptonite at times, but I don't think the pull-up jumper is a bad shot for him.

the jumper itself is not bad it's just that he forces it a bit and then gets out of control..either he takes a shot too early in the clock, has a turnover, or drives to the hole and doesn't get it close

that's the kind of thing that people harp on westbrook about

And I get that. But I don't feel, particularly in these playoffs, that he is doing that. He did it a little last game, but overall he's taken good care of the ball & has played under control. And when he drives to the hole, he always gets it close. He's incredibly good at finishing around the hoop. One of the best in the league imho.

it was noticable in the SA series...i believe game 5 he had horrible stretch in the 4th quarter that almost gave the game away

i remember in game 1 he was horribly erratic and took some puzzling shots

sometimes he is under control..sometimes he isn't..he's really volatile

he definitely is one of the best finishers but he tries some shots and angles that leave you puzzled

I recognize it and yeah it's something that he needs in his game, but imo he takes them at really bad times when he's in the halfcourt setting. I have no problems with him taking it if he's wide open or if he actually creates space for himself to have a good shot and of course on the fast break, but for reasons completely unknown to anyone but him, he'll just randomly pull up for a long 2 with 19 seconds left on the shot clock. Or even worse he'll just pull up for those JR Smith style 3s. Idk, maybe it's just me, but he should be thinking drive all the time because he's such a great finisher. The jumper isn't a bad shot, it's his shot selection, which I believe everyone agrees with.

You mentioned the 4th quarter where he settled for jumpers. That's pretty much what I was yelling at the whole time.

I think in game two he started too agressive and tried to force shots. I think he started with 1-10 or something close. The first quarter was definitely on him in my eyes.

If you have a scorer like Durant, as a PG it´s your job to give him the ball in a good position. It´s good that he can score 30 by yourself, but I think sometimes he tries to take the leading from KD and that´s the games they loose.

Happened last season in the playoffs, too!
