It's exactly why I wasn't real upset by his leaving. A closer that walks too many is a recipe for disaster. The only reason "Steroid Boy" Thames got an AB was the fact that Davis walked 2 guys to get him in the batter's box. It's exactly why I like Morrow and I'm guessing why the Cubs saw him as a closer as well. His last 3 years have been awfully good. Just too bad he can't stay healthy which has limited his sample size.

Darvish threw 55 pitches in bullpen today, using most of his pitches and felt good afterward...
My guess with him is he'll get a couple rehab games eventually and will be activated Sept 1st and be used as the 6th man when their in the middle of 23 straight games without a day off, then depending on how it goes, they could stick with him and put monty in the pen...

6 man is not a stretch for the final month. Joe tends to want to reduce innings to compensate for the extra innings absorbed post season.

So is it intentional by Hendricks to plunk Vil x2. They traded together Vil was the head line. Hendricks became the prize. Now Vil is putting it together and Kyle is saying know your place.
