Well, if Castillo got as many ABs as Montero he'd probably be having as good of a year. You can't have a 30 something catcher catching every day. Their body can't take the wear and tear. Beyond that, you seem to fail to recognize the situation where Castillo is getting starved out by Jon Linus Lester needing his blanket, David Ross, to catch every fifth day removing even more time from Castillo.
I can agree that Montero needs to rest his legs. I like it better with Montero in the lineup though, hitting around 300. Maybe Castillo will get out of this funk at the plate then.

Funk? He hit the ball hard last night and Tejada had a lucky stab. I couldn't care less what Castillo's avg is right now. It's a small sample size as a backup to the backup and he's hitting it hard. Eventually luck turns when that's happening.

Actually I think he was signed as a the backup ace. I don't think they wanted Arrieta to go into the season as their absolute #1 after he had just started turning things around. By signing Lester, who also was a veteran clubhouse leader, the took some pressure off and may have helped Arrieta become the #1. I thought it at the time, I still do. Solid strategic thinking IMHO.
That's fine, I can handle two aces in the starting rotation! [emoji3]

Struck out twice in first to a bats today. I mean he's average is really really low the point is hitting the ball hard or not he still getting himself out there's been a little to no production out of him so far but I hope he gets out of it I don't hate the guy, ya know.

So....Hendricks...I was really rooting for this kid. I think he may be a AAAA pitcher. :(

That is the issue with Hendrick and Wood. We dont need them to have a stellar ERA but we need them to chew up some innings. Thats 10 innings in two games combined pitch by our starter and will be 8 innings from our bullpen. That is how you make your bullpen implode.

Hendricks has 1 quality start so far this season with 7 outings

Ouch...

Do you guys think Wada replaces Wood or Hendricks 1st?

I think it would be a disaster to have two lefties back to back like Wood and Wada. Both soft tossing and the players would the see the angle the game before.

Feel like the bullpen needs a guy like Tyler Clippard used to be for the Nationals. Someone who could give them 2 solid innings in an outing rather than what they have.

Lets see: bottom of the rotation + team that is not a bunch of shitty hitters = 10 runs.
