no. Replying to the jabroni above claiming I never complain about Kyle or whatever dumb shit he was spouting

So you didn't claim that Kyle is a slow starter? Come on now.

Kyle is a easy apple to figure out

His fastball sits at 86 then he is going to get wrecked.

It sits at 89 he dominates.

86-81 change between his 2 offerings is not enough of a variable.

This has been his history.

Kyle peaked at 87 on his 4 seam. 86 on his 2. 81 on his change up and 73 on his curve.

His result is not shocking when he loses 4-5 MPH off of his velocity.

Yeah... if kyle doesn't get blooped to death in the first they probably win that game.

I said Kyle is a slow starter because historically he has been.

Fair enough.

Historically when his fastball sits 86 vs 89 this is the result. Today he went more to his 73 curve because 5MPH difference between his change and 2 seem is not fooling hitters. Normally when his fastball sits at 89 and his change is 79-80 he is closer to a 10 MPH offset which is a timing mechanic issue.

That has been the issue with Kyle sense day one. He has little margine for error and losing any velocity makes him ineffective.

It really is not about slow starts with him. More so on fastball velocity.

Joking? Because this isn't accurate
It was a 4/55M deal. The Cubs are on the hook for 2022 and 2023 with a 1.5M buy out.

Now I am ok with Kyle as a #4. Hell after seeing Darvish Kyle was a polar opposite.

The problem with this year is the Cubs have 2 clones. 1 tailing fastball guy and Williams who has a solid mix but is a 91MPH arm.

Alozay breaks the mold.

Davies is gone this year at some point. Williams gas Arb3. Jake has a opt. So you can expect 1 arm added. My idea was trade for Gray with pitching depth that is not in the plans. Steel, Thompson and Miller. Then sign Gray to a term deal. Gray has a 5 pitch mix and favors a 94MPH 4 seem.

So
Gray 94 MPH primary 4 seem.
Alzolay 94 MPH primary slider
Arrieta 91 mph sinker (tail action)
Hendricks 86 MPH sinker. He is about 50/50 on his change to 2 seem but has added a curve.
Williams 92 MPH 4 seem is his dominate pitch

So Gray would add velocity then a year later 2 guys drop off and Marquez would be ready. F/A front Clevenger would be up. Nola. So the Cubs could invest at this point

Thinking of this internally, Thompson has a 5 pitch mix. His primary is a 89MPH cutter then a 94 MPH fastball. His 3rd offering is a 81 MPH curve.

I am not against letting him mature into a starter.

Steel is a 4 seem pitcher 50% of his offerings. It comes in at 94 MPH. He mixes in a slider/sinker the rest of the time.

Yet again another pitcher that I would not be against pushing into the rotation.

So if they wanted to go cheap.

Hendricks
Alozay
Williams
Steel
Thompson

Save cash on not pulling Jake's opt. Following year Marquez replaces Williams. Then Hendricks drops off the next.
