I hold out hope that we experience one of those "team rabbit's foot"* years. Look like crap for a while down the stretch and get hot in the post season.

* - My late brother's term for the Cardinals who, for all their own success, get the absolute luckiest breaks of any team anywhere.

TL told his son today (at least twice) that I want the Cards OUT, but I am afraid we will regret seeing the Dodgers IN.

I think we'll regret playing anyone that can score. All my years, I don't recall seeing anything quite like this...sure, there have been players slumping but this is pretty much team wide.

The Indians have 13 runs in 3 innings.....the Dodgers pounding the crap out of the Cards with a football like 17. (should be a rather large smile on TL1961's face) Didn't the Cubs used to be able to that stuff? Man, it's been a draught.

Cody Bellinger drove in 6 runs today, and it was not the high for his own team. Puig drove in 7. :)

I apologize to everyone. I am watching the Illinois vs USF football game. I will have no detailed comments during this game. Go, Cubs!

I am also. Considered going to that game but schedule would not allow. Even knowing how poor Illini have been, I can't believe that small crowd.

I have not followed them much at all...not a big college FB guy. Is Lovie on thin ice?

Joe pulling out all the stops....damn, it's hard to win games with so little run support.

SI says so. Most people say No at this point. Recruiting has picked up, relative to where the Illini have been, but is far, far short of where good teams are.

Playing lots of young guys, and there are some positives, but it's a long road.

Cubs Win! Woof!

I'm really impressed that our pitching has been so good. But damn, this winning by one run is getting hard to take, day after day... ;)

Like the Pittsburgh series again.

Two scoring plays in two days, yet we won both.

Jon Lester, ladies and gentlemen!!

Yes, sir....the cream always rises to the top.

My God, it's had to be. Maybe facing some tougher pitching from Arizona will get them rolling again...they sure can't do much with mediocre pitching.
