My favorite teams
Ricky was let go, because he isn't Joe Maddon. You think that Ricky was let go because he was failing? Really?

The Bad- Javy Baez 0-5! 5 strikeouts! uke:
Who's K's five times in a signal game?
As bad as some guys been this year hitting no one K'd five times in a game!

Yeah but KB doesn't swing at pitches over his head or 2 ft outside thoughDid KB strike out 3 times and then get thrown out? Sounds like he could have easily done it too.
Do you think Doug Collins was failing? Was Denis Savard failing? How about Jerry Manual or Renteria himself? They were all either winning or doing a nice job of bringing a young team into the limelight.....the difference is management found someone better. Not sure, but I think it was Jerry Krause who said they needed someone to go from point A to point B....hence Phil Jackson. At the time I thought it was complete BS or coach speak but it appears in retrospect to be somewhat valid.
Jackson 6 Championships
Coach Q 3 Cups
Ozzie a World Series
Maddon a World Series
Is Renteria just a rebuilding manager? Maybe, but I'm not sure of that yet. I actually really like him and I think he possesses some of what Maddon has and of course his own thing. Of course he was interviewed for jobs for 10 years until he finally got the Cubs job and was only given a short deal leading up to when the Cubs thought they would contend so who the hell knows? Managers are funny beasts. I think there are winning managers who are no damned good (Mike Matheny, Matt Williams, Bobby Valentine), I think there are losing managers, or usually losing managers as a couple of these are exceptions this year, who are excellent (Craig Counsell, Paul Molitor, Renteria, Fredi González) winning managers who are good but not to level they are elevated to (Dusty Baker, Don Mattingly) and winning managers who take more criticism than one would think (Joe Maddon, John Gibbons, John Farrell) and that's before you ever get to the guys like Girardi, Bochy, Francona who I don't think anyone questions. I could go on and on but what makes a good manager? I think the best ones are managers in the business sense first. They manage their team like a good manager in the business word would, delegate their vision to subordinates and then take the lead during games. Is that Ricky Renteria, again no clue, but I haven't made my mind up either.
It's management's call, always will be and if that's their perception....well....
two outstanding plays in left by both teams
Werd. I thought Jay's was a little more impressive, though.
Shields doing his best Lackey impersonation out there.
I have Len and JD on and so i can only imagine Hawk
