So, the Nationals have hit 6 homers for 8 runs in 3 innings against the Brewers. Ouch.

The Cubs didn't say, Rick can't do it. They saw Joe which they had a love fest for. They had the shot and went for it. Had NOTHING to do with Rick's ability. It had everything to do with getting who the organization perceived as the best proven available. Rick isn't proven to be in the upper echelon of coaching. He's only in his second season.

For this you are just dead wrong.

Oh, I see. You know for sure I'm wrong after less than two seasons. Got it.

Three weeks ago to the day......

I stand by my 80-84 wins prediction i gave a few weeks ago .

I also said they'll be at least 5 out at break.....

No way we make the playoffs. Over half way done and they haven't improved at all. Same shit every game. Shitty pitching and no offense.

Maybe we can just hope to be like the Giants and win every even number year. Odd years are for the AL.

Not sure they are better but they are hungrier than the Cubs. That's one of the reasons it's so hard to repeat. You win and you just expect to win again....you lose the hunger you had trying to climb the mountain.

I've been in denial that the Brewers are actually better than the Cubs...today is really making me think.

One team has da fire. Another team is just going through the motions. Too bad we are the later.

Three weeks from now...hell, a week from now it could back the other way....that's baseball.

Exactly why I always suggest people shouldn't live or die on losses. Well that and the fact I genuinely enjoy baseball even if the cubs lose. I tend to view it as similar to a movie where the losses of the protagonist goes through on the journey make the wins all the more sweeter.

The real question here is can the Cubs catch the Nationals?

I was right about being 5 games out at break...[emoji6]

31-31 rest of way put them at 84 wins

It's funny because I remember saying it some where but I don't remember where that all the cubs had to do was go on a hot streak where they win something like 10 of 15(might have been 15 of 20) and then play .500 the rest of the way which is close to where we are. Not trying to toot my own horn but more just pointing out that this team for whatever reason plays better in the second half both of the past 2 years.

I think it's safe to say after watching the crazy ups and downs from this team for 100 or so games....nothing is out of the question. They very well could win only 84 but what makes everyone crazy is that you know they're good enough to win 94 too.

Next home stand against Dbacks and Nationals will tell us where their at..

Are they just beating up on bad teams now in their 10-2 second half start or are they clicking and back to playing good winning baseball...

If Schwarber gets his average up to .200, I'll be happy

Needs to go 11 for next 32
