Just thinking about this....

It kind of sucks for Quintana that he comes into the league for the ace so he ends up facing the ace of the other team most of the time.

At this time of year does it really match up that frequently. Teams have different off days, skip guys in the rotation, etc. I am sure he gets some tough matchups, but I don't think teams matchup like that by the middle of June.

Except I said that for a reason. Because he has faced some really good pitchers.

Wish De Aza would've been pushing more. Could've been a triple, I think.

Wainwright has been pretty bad this year. The good outing he had tonight dropped his ERA to 4.75, and he wasn't in the ace spot of the Cards rotation.

Beautiful hit by Beckham. Beckham thought throw was going him, but the pitcher cut it off and Beckham is out.

Still counts as a hit, right?

And yet, still the ace. May not be there in the rotation, but he is their ace.

He faced a good pitcher in Tampa Bay too, if I recall.

Not this year. And facing a good pitcher against Tampa Bay is like complaining about facing a good pitcher when facing Washington.

DUNN!!!!! Now if Beckham wouldn't have been trying to take 2nd, that would be a two run homer.

Also, I called this in my head.

I was like well this is all or nothing for Dunn. Just get a homer.

I'm just saying that the road hasn't been exactly easy for Quintana and I think he would do a great job as the 4th starter.

Because I'd rather have Viciedo out in the field and at bat more often.

Use Dunn as a pinch hitter and not the other way around. Yeah, Dunn hit a homerun, but I like that Viciedo can hit the ball and hit homers. And Tank is also a lot better in the field.

John Rooney...ugh...He's Mike Shannon's sidekick. His "It's...A...Goner!" home run call is :turrible:

Rooney does talk more about baseball when it's his innings to call though. But when Shannon is on it's him talking about his playing days, his vacations and his restaurant.

I miss Jack Buck.

Disagree a million percent. Rooney is one of the very best announcers in all of sports let alone baseball.

Another thing I hate about Cardinals announcers: I'm a Sox fan so when they talk about the Sox it's just stating the obvious.

Yeah, that guy playing first with the last name Danks isn't the pitcher. It's his brother.

Nawww I thought that the White Sox would put their pitcher that's on the DH at first.
